I gave the story to Alan Evans at the Guardian yesterday but he didn't get back to me. This is as big as the #sycamoregap tree destruction. That tree was famous. This one was far more valuable ecologically.

This from Lord Bragg is essential reading. If I were Nicholas Setota or Darren Henley I would lie down and die of shame. Why the hell didn't they resign when the appalling Dorries 'instructed' them? Huh. They were only too happy to oblige. @ace_national thetimes.co.uk/article/70040…

This photo is sadly a bit blurry, but when I was little, I used to love going to see this house in Lerwick, Shetland, where a house always had three Christmas trees in each of their front windows. 🎄🤩

Opening our season with @Philharmonia, @Davidhconductor, @_Claire_Rutter, @RossRamgobin, @KMGSoprano, Philip Scriven & Harry Jacques was a joy. Thanks to all who came! The rest of the season brings carols, commissions and choral connections - we can't wait to share them with you.

We adore this piece, but don’t take our word for it - here are what @JohnmRutter, @DavidhConductor and @_Claire_Rutter had to say about Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem. Experience it live with @Philharmonia on Thursday 2 November - thebachchoir.org.uk/concerts…

One of my proudest moments in 30 yrs of knowing @CarlDavisMusic was when we commissioned him and Terry Pratchett @terryandrob to write a national anthem for Ankh-morpork for my Music Machine show on @BBCRadio3, recorded by @BBCSSO @_Claire_Rutter youtu.be/ya9MK4y3R3w

I have such fond memories of playing music at school. It doesn't just give young people joy, it teaches the skills and creativity essential to future learning and work. That's why I will change the curriculum so that all young people have access to music.classicfm.com/music-news/sir…

Hit the nail on the head @HackedOffHugh!! The uk is a mess Brexit is a disaster The press are in bed with the politicians! #BorisJohnsonphone where is it? Why hasn’t he been arrested? We don’t give a shiney shite he has had another kid. Wall to wall #BBCPresenterScandal
Want to see Hugh Grant telling the truth about the press and the hellscape that is British politics? Here you go. Brexit has ruined Britain and the press are wildly out of control. Nobody can counter what he is saying.

British shoppers are being completely ripped off. @waitrose charge £2.75 for a bag of Tyrrells crisps. In a German supermarket it’s €1.99 (£1.70)! This is one of many British items I found A LOT cheaper in Europe. We’re being taken for a ride – at Littleton, England
