Or you could use something you already have! Like an Apple TV remote. Or a Dualsense controller. Or an Xbox controller. Or a Switch Joycon. Or a Steam controller. Or an 8BitDo controller.

YouTube iOS client has dark mode/light mode issues with font color. I thought it might be fixed by now, but I’ve dealt with this for about a month now. Force restarting app fixes it. Please file bug report. @YouTube

Why are happy customers buying ControllerKeys? ControllerKeys customizes your game controller to do anything a mouse and keyboard could do! And more! A lot of professional software can be used more handily with the help of ControllerKeys.

What’s your favorite Easter egg on modern devices? Do they even do anything like this anymore? The closest thing I can think of is tapping to activate developer mode on Android.

Play Brick by going to ‘Settings’ then ‘About’ and then hold the centre button for five seconds.

There’s a hidden dagger in almost every PC game from 1995-2005 that murders ARM processors. It’s kind of an accident, and it all has to do with floating points. x87 was Intel’s floating point extension to x86. I won’t get into all the historical drama, but Intel decided that all internal float math would be at 80-bit extended precision to reduce rounding errors. Of course, today no one in their right mind uses 80-bit; standard 64-bit doubles are just too convenient. Modern ARM64 doesn’t have any 80-bit hardware! This creates a nasty problem for emulation. How much x87 arithmetic can you replace with say, native ARM64 floating point (losing precision!) without breaking behavior? It’s not so simple; dropping 16-bits of precision can cause funny physics glitches and such. But boy, if you need all 80-bits, the software fallback REALLY stinks. With all the decomp/recomp hype lately, porting OG Xbox and PC games to mobile / ARM devices is extra tricky. Not impossible, but you’d be amazed at how much x87 code is in old games!

Oh my goodness this has to be right. Instead of generating a random 256-bit number they generated a random number between 0 and 256. That’s how they got 4, 66, 155, 156, 230 and 237.

They misread 256 bit as 0-256, I bet

The Steam Deck can get pretty much all past generation console games running on it! I was shocked. Ask your AI agent about it.

Came across the awesome security camera comparison display from TP-Link at the Syntrend Mall! I’m sure someone had a fun time putting together this demo.

Playing Cyberpunk on a giant VR screen in my Meta Quest app BeamDesk. I’ve been working on BeamDesk, my macOS and Meta Quest app that streams your displays to VR. This project has been under development for a while. It’s feeling relatively stable. Wanted to stress test it with a high end game. The same macOS host playing Cyberpunk is streaming frames. Latency is feeling goooood!

That demo involved a non trivial chance of embarrassing failure! 🫡 I’m only going for the baseline model. At this point in my life, rocket bunny hops are out of my comfort zone.

The fast charge animation on the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max is so cool! It’s the stock animation on Xiaomi’s HyperOS. I’ve had this phone for a few weeks now and it’s the first time I looked at it after plugging it into a 100W charger. What a nice surprise.

Halo Reach on the Steam Deck! I haven’t paid much attention to gaming in like 10 years. All of a sudden, the AAA games of my childhood are available on a handheld device😮

This is amazing! This kind of store shelf interface is perhaps the most natural and human way to interact with a ton of unique objects. We all do it on a regular basis at the grocery store.
Desde hace muchos años desarrollo una especie de diógenes digital que se ha acentuado con la crisis de los 40. Este fin de semana he decidido poner un poco de orden al caos digital, y el resultado era una cosa impensable para mi hace un año.

I jailbroke my smart photo frame from Amazon. A post from @wesbos has been popular lately and it inspired me to get one of these smart photo frames and try rooting it. It turns out all of these photo frames are Android. Mine had a microSD card reader and USB-C port, either of which could give you root access.

Got DOOM running on my Alex Echo Spot 1st Gen. The Alexa is rooted and running LineageOS. I had to make some fixes to the Bluetooth driver to pair my Dualsense controller, but now it’s smooth!
