He now has 3 HR in his last 5 games and 3 in his last 10, hitting .265 with 4 HR and 12 RBI over that stretch. The power has been there all season with an 18.8% barrel rate, 55.8% hard-hit rate, and 93.7 MPH exit velocity the results are finally catching up. Jose Quintana is a great matchup. The veteran lefty returned from a four-month elbow injury and owns a 5.40 ERA, 5.65 xERA, and 8 HR allowed in just 45 innings. He’s allowing plenty of fly balls and carries only an 11.1% K rate, which is important against Murakami since strikeouts are his biggest weakness. Chicago has also posted a 115 wRC+ against lefties at home. The concern is Murakami’s .184 average against lefties, but Quintana likely won’t work deep after going just 4 innings in his return. That should give Murakami plenty of chances against a Colorado bullpen with a 4.82 ERA and 80 HR allowed. With Murakami scorching hot, the division still on the line, and a fly-ball lefty on the mound, we’re running it back and taking him to go yard again. 📊@HOFApp

Before going down, he started the season absolutely on fire, clearing this mark in all 6 games he pitched, giving us plenty of confidence in what he can do when fully locked in. He now gets a Braves lineup that has been struggling to make consistent contact lately, falling into the bottom 10 in K% over their last 15 games. The matchup gets even better when looking at their recent individual numbers, with 5 hitters carrying a 26% K rate or higher over their last 30 games. That gives Glasnow plenty of opportunities to attack hitters and rack up strikeouts. Before his injury, Glasnow was generating a 33.1% K rate and 30.1% whiff rate, showing just how much swing-and-miss ability he brings when he's right. With Atlanta struggling to make contact and multiple high-K bats throughout the lineup, we should see Glasnow come out aggressive and attack the zone.
