It has been reported by Tshenolo PI that the e-hailing driver from the Eldorado Park ambush did not survive. The words were simple and devastating: “Driver unfortunately didn’t make it. May his soul rest in peace.”
What started as an ordinary trip request turned into a calculated robbery that ended a life. Dashcam footage showed Angelique Yaya Munnick allegedly acting as the decoy while her three accomplices moved in. As the driver fled for safety, shouts of “Shoot him! Shoot him!” rang out. He was shot in the back while trying to escape. Tonight we learned he never made it home.
Angelique and her three alleged accomplices were arrested earlier this evening, but the driver’s death has changed the weight of this case. This is no longer only about robbery. It is about the loss of a man who was simply trying to earn a living. His family is now left with grief instead of answers, and every e-hailing driver across South Africa is left with the knowledge that accepting a trip can cost everything.
JustAdvocacy stands with his family and with every driver who faces these risks daily. We call on the justice system to pursue the strongest possible charges and to ensure this matter is treated with the seriousness it now demands. A life was taken. Accountability must follow.

For those who refuse to read the articles about this case. She had a babysitter coming in the mornings to check in, make lunches, get them off to school, and prep dinner for them. All the 14 year old had to do was help them get inside after school. Microwave dinner. Get kids in bed and text mom updates. This was a work trip and they threatened to fire her if she did not go. The father has abuse charges and the police handed him their kids on top of arresting her.

I am a proud and loyal Democrat. I served in President Clinton’s National Security Council and worked for Madeleine Albright at the State Department. I ran for Congress as a Democrat, have voted Democratic all my life, and expect to continue doing so.
But I would never vote for Abdul El-Sayed. In my judgment, he does not represent the values of our party or our nation. I urge my fellow patriotic Democrats in Michigan to leave the Senate line blank or vote for Republican Mike Rogers.
This is an exceptional case, and I do not make this recommendation lightly. We can support Democratic majorities nationally while refusing to support a candidate who violates our core values. Loyalty to our party should strengthen our principles, never require us to abandon them.
