Our historic neighborhood in Dallas has joyfully embraced being a Halloween destination. Many of the families who come to trick-or-treat are not well off, and we get to bless them. My husband and I spend $350-500 on the “good” candy and give out 4-5000 pieces. It’s so fun to let kids pick multiple pieces and see the thrill on parents’ faces when we offer them a piece too.
Joy should try looking at Halloween through that lens instead of “ew, keep the poors out of places they don’t belong”
