Matthew, Republicans have controlled Texas since Dazed and Confused came out and are currently sending masked agents around the country to round up our neighbors. I know they gave you and your Hollywood friends $1.5 billion, but Jesus Christ, pick a side.

Frankly, this is how moving the Overton window is supposed to work and why it's imperative for the left to pressure left electeds, despite what DSA rightists/Progs say. If Mamdani becomes "the consensus center" then you've just moved the Dem party leftward. That's the point.
Zohran Mamdani, moderate hero theatlantic.com/ideas/2026/1…
In Maine, Michigan and Minnesota we are watching the Democratic Establishment’s hand picked candidates lose and then either actively or passively undermine the party and or their nominee. This is an abject failure by the Democratic leadership.
Detroit News: Former Chair of the Michigan Democratic Party is leading an effort to make sure Democrats leave their ballot blank for the US Senate race in Michigan.
Lon Johnson, the former chair, supported Rep. Haley Stephens over El-Sayed in the August Democratic primary.

“if we lose voters because of that, so be it”
Love when my fellow leftists narrowly win their first real election and immediately throw away all of the lessons that got us popular support for once
This kind of rhetoric is always crazy to me
Like, I empathize that it often feels hopeless but to pretend things haven’t slowly gotten better is reductive and false
For fuck’s sake we used to own people as literal property
nothings changed?

your solution is to keep voting for the one of the same two piles of shit hoping things improve

I’m convinced “how does this affect his asks for state revenue” is ALWAYS the most important Zohran question

I don’t think you have a dog in this fight but if you did you would have shot it.
I’ll take @ellalangleymsic over Kacey Musgraves any day.
And if I’m choosin’ Texas, I’ll take Ken Paxton over James Talarico.

When you (as Zohran and co. do) see your task as convincing a skeptical public that you and your ilk can be trusted with governing you’re always going to act more conservatively than factions that always expect to be on the scene. Esp when you won with the conservative tack.

Take: a DeBlasio-style left liberal mayor would have been more likely to fire Tisch than Zohran right now because they wouldn’t view every potential pitfall or controversy as a mortal threat to the ultimate task of socialism and the liberation of humanity.

Mamdani: "There is a reason why the NYPD would not be shooting at a moving vehicle. There is a reason why law enforcement agents are supposed to wear identifiable information and uniforms. What you could see in the videos is bystanders outside unsure as to what they were even seeing. Because in that imagery, it feels as if you’re almost looking at a mass shooter as opposed to seeing someone who’s purportedly representing a federal agency."
The logic here: progressives win, don't fix everything overnight, so voting is pointless. By that standard, nothing has ever worked. I'm a leftist. I'd rather win real things than fantasize about my own side failing so I get to be right.
I actually do support electing social democrats because if we lived under a progressive squad Democrat supermajority and the police were still cracking skulls in black neighborhoods and Israel was still receiving 100 billion dollars for “defense” a year these milquetoast tenderqueers would either have to admit they were wrong about electoralism being the only practical way forward or they would have to admit that they actually just liked the amenities of fascist America all along

My take is that the game is trying to tell you that your political beliefs don't truly determine whether or not you're a good person, and that people are more than politics. I think thats kind of one of the central themes of the whole game, in fact.
