Europe regulated AI and got crushed.
Before the AI Act, Europe already trailed. After it took effect in 2024, private AI investment there grew 7% while America’s jumped 160% to $285.9 billion.
In 2025 the US built 59 notable models. Europe built two.
States are now copying the playbook with over 1,200 AI bills. GDPR already killed a third of apps and nearly halved new launches.
Draghi warned about 100 tech laws and 270 regulators. When you regulate first, builders leave or never show up.
America leads because it let companies build. 50 state rulebooks end that.
America built 59 major AI models in 2025.
Europe built 2.
While the EU strangles itself with its AI Act, Democrats are salivating to import the same regulatory death spiral here.
They want the bureaucrats, the risk assessments, the “safety” mandates, and the compliance theater that turned Europe into an AI irrelevance.
China is racing while Europe is regulating itself into oblivion. And the Democratic Party’s instinct is to copy the losers.

Reddit mods deleted this post demonstrating that every county in Washington voted further right on banning biological men from women's sports than they did for Trump in 2024.
Reddit mods are terrified that woke 1 is dead.

Who ends up paying when a railroad decides to “teach” its customers a lesson?
Higher freight bills can mean higher prices at the store, so families could get stuck paying for this too. We have enough expensive groceries already!
Here’s a clip of the video Union Pacific sued to prevent you from seeing.
In his own words CEO Jim Vena says that if shippers don’t work with him to support the merger, “I’ll probably increase everybody’s rates that said they didn’t want a seamless railroad by 3 or 4 extra percent to teach you a lesson.”
Vena is not just threatening retaliation against customers who speak out against the merger. He’s making working families his bargaining chip. Jim Vena’s merger is a bad deal that must be rejected.

Not quite betting the company, but going balls to the wall for autonomy is a blindingly obvious move.
Everything else is like variations on a horse carriage.
California has 12% of Americans but 24% of the homeless.
They burned $24 billion in 5 years on “homelessness programs” without even tracking if any of it worked.
But still, the NGOs get the contracts. The bureaucrats get the budgets. The politicians get the photo ops and the donor checks. The streets stay full of tents and needles because fixing it would kill the gravy train.
Because fewer homeless people means less money. What they really want is more money to “manage” them forever.
California’s electricity is 32.6¢/kWh.
Only Hawaii is worse.
Nobody could have predicted that green mandates, renewable portfolio standards, wildfire liability schemes, regulatory capture over reliable affordable power, and endless climate justice lectures would lead to this.
Meanwhile, Nevada next door is 13.4¢.
Same grid region and climate challenges, but completely different policy choices.

🇺🇸 One woman spent more than 30 YEARS recording television because she feared history would be rewritten.
Marion Stokes started systematically taping TV in 1979 and barely stopped until her death in 2012.
She ran multiple VCRs at once, recording news, talk shows, sitcoms and major events. By the end, she had amassed around 71,716 VHS and Betamax tapes.
Her final day of recording was December 14, 2012, as TV networks covered the Sandy Hook massacre.
After her death, her son donated the entire collection to the Internet Archive.

Um… hello?
🚨NEW: Venmo suspended the account of alleged Trump shooter Thomas Crooks at 4:41 a.m. on July 14, 2024 due to "unusual activity," according to the latest batch of FBI records released in response to @JudicialWatch's FOIA lawsuit. The would-be assassin's body was still on the AGR rooftop at this time.
Venmo said Crooks could resolve the issue by submitting a photo ID, so it seems like this might have been unrelated to the Trump assassination attempt--unless people were trying to access his account or something. Crooks's identity had only been public for about 4 hours.

A 17-year-old girl held captive for over 500 days was rescued after secretly asking another teenager she met through ‘Among Us’ for help
Her captor had given her a phone with no cellular data but Wi-Fi access, allowing her to play the game
After moving their conversation to another app, she revealed she was being held captive. The other teen alerted a parent, who contacted the FBI, leading to her rescue

We made it back to Chicago, where our trip started 58 days ago. The circle has been completed!
This was our route during our college football road trip across America.
6,835 miles driven.
In the coming years, @Neuralink will enable people to walk and use their hands again
Neuralink gave Noland Arbaugh something to wake up for.
“I didn’t have anything to wake up for in the morning, and this has changed that for me.”
@elonmusk says he’s fairly confident Neuralink could restore full-body functionality at some point in the future—not a capability achieved today.
