🚨My FINAL Big Board for 2026 #nbadraft 🚨 The last few months has been tight for me to focus on the draft but still proud of what I've learned from this class overall. Some HUGE swings in the lotto range which I believe will be worth it in the end. Feel free to ask questions!

This is why high level shot creation matters. Giannis and all of his "efficiency" struggles to close games in the halfcourt. Dont even get me started on Bam. In the last 5 minutes of a game you need high level shot creators. This team doesnt have one.
Bam Adebayo does NOT want the ball in the 4Q Giannis is being forced to take on the entire Mavs defense...

Number to keep an eye on for Cam Boozer this season— 2p% Obviously too early to care yet, but 6/23 (26%) so far on 2s

it’s basically a guard’s job to make sure their bigs are overvalued offensively

The Cavs will never be a threat, they just aren’t made of the right stuff.

Regress OG’s shooting back to the mean and he is still easily one of the most impactful “role players” in the league RS or playoffs based off his defense/scalability/rarity of archetype alone.

Number of teammates that shot 40% 3PT during each of these "GOAT offensive engine's" primes (min 2 3PA/game, 60 games) Nash (05-10): 7 Jokic (21-26): 6 Curry (15-22): 10 LeBron (09-20): 15 MJ (90-98): 6 Duncan (99-04): 8 Shaq (95-05): 6 KD (14-21): 8 KOBE'S ENTIRE CAREER (96-16): 5 3 of Kobe's 40% 3PT shooters played on the same team in 08. Not coincidentally, they were one of the best half court offenses in the last 22 years In over twice the time as most of these "GOAT offensive player's" primes, Kobe STILL played with less 3 point shooters than any of them We can only imagine what Kobe would've done with actual shooters and spacing on his team But one thing I feel confident in saying: nobody in the last 40 years is more impactful than Kobe is with limited spacing

Little basketball analytics rant. I’ve been seeing more and more people on my timeline use points-per-possession (“PPP”) when talking about actions (and even shooting?). Maybe my timeline has just gotten more college basketball-heavy, but PPP has quietly become a catch-all stat, and it’s getting stretched way past what it measures. PPP is a team efficiency number. It’s great for game- or season-long efficiency, and it’s usually what you’re seeing reported as offensive/defensive rating. When we’re measuring action-level events (picks, drives, isolations, etc.), we want points-per-chance (“PPC”). A chance splits possessions into distinct scoring opportunities, broken up by offensive rebounds and dead balls. Say you run a pindown and the pass gets deflected out of bounds. From the side-out, you run something else and score two. The pindown produced zero points, but PPP credits it with two because you scored on the same possession. PPC gives it zero. If you want to be more precise, you can attribute putback points to the chance that created the miss. Then there’s the concept of direct chances (and true points/shot for shooting!), but this post is already long enough.

Bulls have posted this listing for an Executive Director of Research & Development in the FO. I’m told they’re currently focused on building their analytics department and are looking to add several similar roles. recruiting.paylocity.com/rec…

Yeah I'm probably taking a break from nba draft for the next few months. It's been a struggle as of late and I need to sort things out with my life. Hopefully I can get back to making big boards and mocks before 2027 draft.

Without question. Shaq peaked higher but Duncan was a more complete player and won more with less
Yall really have Tim Duncan over Shaquille O’Neal ?

People are gonna overreact, not knowing Duncan's best defensive attribute vs Shaq was post denial He pushed Shaq farther off the block than he liked and prevented easy post entries, preventing Shaq FGA's in the first place But these things don't show up in the stat sheet
Every shot attempt from Shaquille O'Neal with Tim Duncan as the primary defender in the 2003 WCSF

All this versatility stuff is cool but if you’re top 5 in the league at one thing you’ll emulate versatility anyways

Niggas really be trying to act like KD going to GSW was worse than Bron going to Miami. I think if Bron never goes to Miami, KD never has the idea to go to GS.

When it time for the two superstars to carry in a critical game one blinked. And it wasn’t Steph.
Steph Curry 17 PTS (5-7 FG, 3-5 3P, 97% TS), 3 REB, 1 STL in the 4th quarter vs. Cavs, NBA Finals Game 5 (2015)

Depending on position... Point - defense Wing (SG/SF) - rebounding Forward (SF/PF) - handles Big (PF/C) - scoring
Let’s say you’re building around a superstar with one glaring flaw. What type of flaw would be easiest to cover with roster construction?

Duncan wouldn’t have been jealous over the attention Kobe got and Kobe wouldn’t have hated Duncan because he wasn’t lazy in the offseason. They woulda went 73-9 and finished the job lol
Kobe and Duncan would win 4-5 in a row im not even kidding. Their games would have complemented each other perfectly.

As good of a season Keyonte had, his priors says this level of shooting is likely unsustainable (a bit fluky)
Keyonte shot damn near 50% from 3 on spotups this year, an eye-watering 53% on wide open 3’s this year Any kind of PU3 shooting leap(32.6%) or becoming not the single most destructive defender in the association and the deal is a steal if he can get to normal bad on D…

About 16% of salary cap on average over 5 year span Scary number at first but this won't nuke Darryn Peterson's immediate future with the Jazz
Just in: Utah Jazz guard Keyonte George has agreed on a five-year, $157.5 million rookie-scale contract extension with the franchise, sources tell me and @BannedMacMahon.
