I first spoke about @jumperapp back in September 2024, when I was looking at them primarily as an aggregator.
Fast forward two years, and the thesis looks a lot bigger.

We saw how ZK and FHE solve different privacy problems.
But how do you actually bring FHE into the world of Ethereum and smart contracts?
That’s where fhEVM comes in.
Think of fhEVM as Ethereum’s familiar environment, but extended to understand encrypted inputs and outputs.
With fhEVM, you can:
Deploy contracts that compute on encrypted values
Run DeFi protocols where trades, balances, and strategies stay private
Enable voting, reputation, or credit scoring without exposing raw data

DeFi showed us why privacy matters. But privacy tech comes in flavors, most people know about zero-knowledge proofs (ZK), far fewer know about FHE.
They solve different problems:
ZK: prove something is valid without showing the data.
FHE: compute on encrypted data without ever decrypting it.
Example:
ZK is like proving you’re over 18 without revealing your exact birthdate.
FHE is like letting a hospital run diagnostics on your encrypted medical record without ever seeing the record itself.
The two can even complement each other, but FHE opens doors ZK alone can’t.
And this is where @zama is pushing boundaries, making FHE practical for AI, DeFi, and beyond.
