Nothing would do more to reduce fuel consumption & traffic than to get people to accelerate faster, pay attention & avoid using brakes. After that, replace speed limits with adjustable Target Speeds. And, get rid of unnecessary stop signs❕ 🧵👍 #AntiFragileEnergy

By far, the most important climate change discussion to be had.
Tom Nelson Podcast #439: Dave Burton: “Lifetimes Of Atmospheric CO2 And Heat” is now published. David Burton argues recent warming (~1.25°C since 1870) is small and often overstated, while CO2 benefits crops and ecosystems by boosting growth and water efficiency, reducing famine risk alongside fossil-fuel-based nitrogen fertilizer. He says storm and sea-level data show little acceleration, citing linear long-term tide-gauge records like Honolulu and noting local land motion dominates. His paper discusses multiple CO2 “lifetimes”: turnover (3–5 years), bomb-spike radiocarbon (~20 years), and the climate-relevant adjustment time he estimates at ~55±10 years, with a long tail he deems currently unimportant. He criticizes IPCC “cumulative emissions/TCRE” and “carbon budget” concepts as unphysical, analyzes direct waste heat as negligible (~52–58 days), and promotes his sealevel.info tools and archived Climategate emails. 00:00 Meet David Burton 00:23 How Much Warming Really 02:04 Ice Ages And Freezing Thresholds 03:06 CO2 Greening And Crop Gains 05:28 Famine History And Fertilizer 07:48 Storms Tornadoes And Sea Level 11:00 Paper Overview CO2 Lifetimes 11:55 Turnover Bomb Spike Adjustment 14:31 Cumulative Emissions Myth 15:38 Heat Pulse Lifetime 19:45 Suess Effect Carbon14 Confusion 27:03 Why CO2 Rises Negative Feedbacks 30:03 Linear Removal Rate And Limits 34:14 Why Plant Uptake Stays Linear 35:30 CO2 Boosts Crop Yields 37:03 Airborne Fraction Myth 39:16 Emissions Plateau Math 42:14 Long Tail Lifespan Debate 43:40 Cumulative Emissions Critique 48:49 Carbon Budget Pushback 50:50 How Long Heat Lasts 55:10 Where to Find More 56:39 Sea Level Tools vs NOAA 01:01:05 Climategate Archive Access 01:02:56 Ocean Chemistry and Carbonate 01:08:08 Climate Industry FUD Wrap

NEWS: 19 FORMER ECONOMIC AND NATIONAL SECURITY LEADERS ENDORSE THE BIPARTISAN PERMITTING REFORM BILL Today, a group of former Cabinet members and White House principals across seven Democratic and Republican administrations sent a letter calling on Congress to pass BAAJA. Here are the signatories: Janet YELLEN, Michael R. POMPEO, Steven T. MNUCHIN, Leon E. PANETTA, Timothy F. GEITHNER, Henry M. PAULSON, Jr., Robert E. RUBIN, Stephen MIRAN, Jared BERNSTEIN, Tyler GOODSPEED, Jason FURMAN, Glenn HUBBARD, Laura D’Andrea TYSON, Michael J. BOSKIN, Jeffrey ZIENTS, Jake SULLIVAN, Brian DEESE, Larry KUDLOW, Allan B. HUBBARD Key highlights from the letter: 1. “We are not building infrastructure fast enough to remain globally competitive… The median time for a new power plant to move from an interconnection request to commercial operation has more than doubled, from less than two years for projects built between 2000 and 2007 to more than four years for projects built between 2018 and 2024. 2. China has built more high-voltage transmission in the last fifteen years than the U.S. has built in all of its history... In 2024, China accounted for 31.5% of global knowledge- and technology-intensive manufacturing value added, compared with 20.7% for the United States. 3. Federally funded or permitted projects require NEPA review, but private projects often do not, creating a threat of failure precisely where the government is trying to be proactive, strategic, and engaged. 4. A project that spends years awaiting approval must continue carrying development and financing costs while remaining exposed to rising input costs. The IEA reports that prices for utility-scale transformers increased 26% in 2024, while lead times for some transformers have stretched as long as six years. 5. Mining projects also face tremendous uncertainty: a 2026 study by researchers at the Colorado School of Mines found that permitting for modern mining projects takes an average of 5.5 years, rising to 8.9 years for contested projects. The U.S. currently has the second-longest mine development timeline in the world. 6. The Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act is the most significant bipartisan legislative effort that Congress has undertaken in decades to tackle these challenges. 7. BAAJA addresses key constraints stifling American industry by requiring interregional transmission planning, strengthening the federal backstop for nationally significant transmission lines, and creating a faster, more predictable process for connecting new generation to the grid. 8. BAAJA also makes permits more durable by imposing tighter timelines for litigation and limiting frivolous lawsuits that can halt projects indefinitely, while preserving community input and judicial review of substantive agency decisions.” The letter was organized by @arnabdatta321 on behalf of @IFP and covered exclusively by the WSJ this morning.

On November 3rd, 36 states will elect their next governor. The outcome of these races will make a real difference in the lives of millions of people — but only if you vote. So join me in electing @DemGovs: democraticgovernors.org

In my last two threads, I explained how communists have always taken power, what DataRepublican just uncovered, and how to counter it. Today I have one message, and it's for Donald Trump: be very careful. The most dangerous part of their plan isn't what they will do. It's what they want you to do. According to the files, the strategy is to generate clash after clash in the streets until the president invokes the Insurrection Act. That is the red line. The moment it's crossed, they declare the federal government illegitimate and shift legitimacy to the governors who refuse federal troops. Read that again. The trigger is your response. The trap is built so that defending order becomes the proof of tyranny. This is the oldest move in the revolutionary playbook. Provoke the state, film the reaction, and turn the reaction into the justification. Revolutionaries have always needed the government to overreact at the right moment, in front of the right cameras. They have already written the script. The only role left to cast is yours. So, Mr. President, don't give them the image they need. Don't fight on the battlefield they chose. Fight on yours. Your battlefield is daylight. Publish every dollar of public money that flowed to these networks, every grant, every sub-grant, every intermediary, and let the American people see it with their own eyes. Your battlefield is the law. Hold public hearings under oath while you still hold Congress. Enforce the laws already on the books, through the courts, calmly and relentlessly. Prepare the constitutional response to rogue governors now, so nothing has to be improvised in a crisis. Those who improvise under pressure make the mistakes their enemies were waiting for. Your battlefield is technology. Give citizens open AI tools to trace their tax dollars and map these networks themselves. DataRepublican did it almost alone. Imagine a hundred million Americans doing it. A nomenklatura survives through opacity, and AI is the end of opacity. And your battlefield is November 3. Every vote is a vote on whether an elected government gets to stay legitimate. Their plan needs two things: chaos and a strongman to blame for it. Give them neither. Give them transparency and the Constitution, applied without flinching. Nothing destroys a network that lives in the dark like daylight. Nothing destroys a legitimacy campaign like a government that stays scrupulously within the law. The stakes could not be higher. If the United States falls to collectivism at the very moment superintelligence arrives, there is no fallback, no other country able to rebuild the free world. Western civilization would be lost for good. You have the institutions, the facts and the Constitution. Don't let them write the ending.

🚨🚨THE DEMOCRACY FILES, PART 2: WHEN AND HOW TO DECLARE THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT ILLEGITIMATE 🚨 Some questioned whether a group of 200 ex-USAID officials could actually pull off their ambitions to rewrite the Constitution. Here, they describe exactly how it works. They aren't working alone. The videos all come from Renew to Thrive (R2T) group and associates. Danielle Reiff and Paul Zeitz play key roles within R2T. R2T sits inside a much, much larger umbrella called United Democracy Alliance (UDA), which is an extremely hush-hush control plane of leaders from major "blocking" NGOs such as 50501 and Indivisible fulfilling various functions. UDA decides when protests get deployed, timelines, how to respond, all that. R2T's role within UDA is concerned with "the day after tomorrow" - in other words, their function is to conceive what a rewritten American government will look like after the rest of UDA fulfills its purpose. As will be shown, Erica Chenoworth is credited with conceiving UDA in the first place under the Horizons "Big Tent" initiative. Note here that National Security Leaders for America (NSL4A) is credited for operationalizing UDA. NSL4A is a group of 1,600 ex-military, intelligence, and diplomatic officials. They are led by Rear Admiral Michael E. Smith (Ret). NSL4A also played a key role in the "illegal orders" messaging which targeted Pete Hegseth. Zeitz is also a member of NSL4A. It must be emphasized that the choice of a military-oriented organization to coordinate NGOs across domestic protests is an interesting one all in itself - especially in an umbrella conceived by a regime change expert like Chenoworth. You will have a hard time finding any mentions of UDA in the public. They are extremely hush-hush and selective who they talk to. Mike Smith himself makes a personal appearance in other calls, coordinating Insurrection Act exercises and roleplaying with R2G as one of the participants. As the audio transcript shows, they have outlined a sequence of "redlines" in which case the federal government should be declared illegitimate. Invoking the Insurrection Act against "peaceful" protesters is one of the most discussed redlines. I will post the illegitimate criteria below, but basically, almost any effective pushback against NGOs is a measure of illegitimacy according to them. Important to understand: The audio shows they shopped this idea around governors, but the reality is that governors do not have to explicitly sign on to the pact to play their role in the coup. All they have to do is refuse troops in their state and let UDA / R2G do the work of dissolving the federal government.

This is shameless fearmongering about AI. The actual labor data? JOLTS layoffs down 10%, initial jobless claims down 16% - both YoY. Companies have always cut jobs. And many tech firms are finally shedding the bureaucratic bloat they piled on during COVID. AI is a great societal equalizer, not the enemy. Stop the propaganda. @KobeissiLetter
Layoff Announcements in 2026: 1. UPS: 30,000 Employees 2. Oracle: 30,000 Employees 3. Amazon: 16,000 Employees 4. Omnicom: 15,000 Employees 5. Meta: 8,000 Employees 6. Microsoft: 4,800 Employees 7. Dow Chemical: 4,500 Employees 8. Cisco: Fewer Than 4,000 Employees 9. American Express: 3,840 Employees 10. Uber: 3,300 Employees 11. Renault: Up to 2,400 Employees 12. Nike: 1,400 Employees 13. General Motors: 1,300 Employees 14. Disney: 1,000 Employees 15. Citigroup: 1,000 Employees The tech sector alone has seen 135,000 layoffs so far in 2026 across 330 companies. Amid rising prices and AI adoption, US corporations are looking reduce expenses and increase efficiency. Keep watching the labor market.

My new @townhallcom column lays into this heinous harpy and all the other goose-stepping freaks who think they can frame us into submission… “When fascism comes to America, it will come from the left, because the left is where fascism comes from. It will come in the form of a Democrat, a Democrat who pretends to be patriotic and points to her résumé as if it’s proof. And it will be dressed like an HR director at a mid-tier company in a second-tier town.” Dem Hack Drops the Mask and Lets Her Fascism Freak Flag Fly townhall.com/columnists/kurt…

Immigration policy must be driven by the present, not the past, and business leaders are too terrified of the left AND the right to acknowledge this. Recent H1B discourse revolves around a longstanding immigration sleight-of-hand. H1B proponents point to exceptional people who came here decades ago as if they represent the current state of the program in the same way that advocates for low-skill/illegal immigration point to very favorable immigrant crime/welfare/education/etc statistics that do, in truth, have them beating native-born Americans on many fronts. It is all a sham. The world that created those statistics, people, and businesses no longer exists. Brilliant but desperate Vietnamese fathers who fled communism have nothing in common with young men from Honduras, and the crime rates/economic acccomplishments/integration of the former should not be used to justify mass migration of the latter. Nor should the accomplishments of people who managed to get an H1B visa in the 90s (when the program was capped to just 65,000 visas) be used to justify staffing agencies and tech companies using the program to replace American jobs for less money. The obvious abuse going on is politically suicidal and something that even the most ardent supporters of the visa should want to crack down on, no immigration program can possibly survive the obvious and widely known reality of what is going on. I am a longtime outspoken advocate for stealing the best people from other countries to make our own better, runaway abuse of existing programs robs the government of the worker trust required to do so. Lots of people in the tech space know this. Even the dumb people are smart enough to see it. Nobody actually believes these are all incredible people with unique talents performing jobs no American can. Everyone knows the guy in Cubicle Bay 7 doing mediocre but functional web design for half the salary of his American peers is no savant and doesn't meet the statutory requirements for his H-1B visa. Unfortunately, most people with power or profile are terrified that any public statement or acknowledgement will get them attacked by the right (You guys have been screwing over American workers for years with visa abuse, you damn hypocrite!) or the left (You are racist, sexist, misogynist, and sucking up to this fascist administration!). Or, more likely, both. I know too many tech execs in particular who feel trapped, like the only winning move is to stay silent. JD is blowing the whole thing wide open by putting facts and stats front and center that nobody wants to engage with. Critics will talk about anything and everything else but these damning facts and this obvious truth, that H1B visas serve neither their original purpose, legal purpose, invented purpose, or the American people.
Vice President JD Vance breaks down the data: "If you are working as an H-1B visa in the United States of America, you’re earning $20,000 less than an American citizen hired in the same position. If you were brought in by one of these foreign outsourcing firms, you’re making $48,000 less than an American citizen in a similar position. So I’m sure that everybody here understands the game that is being played. You bring in indentured servants from outside the country, you lay off American workers and, if you’re a corporation, you make a ton of money by under cutting the wages of American workers, replacing them with people who frankly shouldn’t be in the United States of America to begin with."

More, more, more AI! AI, really SI, is the great societal equalizer that will cull the bureaucrats and let creative talent rise. Corporates like Barclays use AI as a smokescreen to protect management’s cushy jobs and keep young talent down. Fire them and their rubber-stamp boards. That’s progress.
