A single property owner on Bathurst refused to sell for the Mirvish Village/Honest Ed’s development. Here’s how it’s been integrated into the pedestrian street component.

The Toronto Star’s editorial board, which most know is separate from the news/reporting folks, didn’t endorse either mayoral candidate. (Endorsement went to Ana Bailao in 2023.) Screenshots of today’s editorial ⬇️ for posterity. Gift link here: thestar.com/gift-redeem?t=aa…
No endorsement from the Toronto Star is which telling about how it feels about Mayor Chow and her record. There’s always an element of the unknown with change. But the incumbent is well known, 40 years in public office, and the Star is saying it’s time for a change thestar.com/opinion/editoria…

It's been a day and a half since I responded to Environment Canada saying my questions were not answered, and that the requested data was publicly available and not connected to the investigation I followed up again at 4.50pm yesterday asking for a statement on why weather information is being withheld. Nothing.
This is what we’re up against trying to report on the CFB Wainwright tragedy. On October 18, I asked Environment Canada for the original wind-warning bulletins for the region, to make sure I hadn’t missed any and because several had since been archived online. I also asked for the timestamped XML files — or directions on how to access them myself. I wasn’t asking about the fire. I wasn’t asking for anything new. I was trying to retrieve historical weather warnings and records, most of which were already publicly available. This was their response. It took them two full working days to send this.

If you're wondering who is behind those Jagmeet Singh duffel bag ads on here, know that it's part of a multi-billion dollar scam empire being run out of Eastern European call centers. It's an absolutely massive problem and Canada is a priority target. cbc.ca/news/ukraine-call-cen…

Yesterday Olivia Chow said she almost voted for the wrong mayoral candidate because there's someone else with her last name on the ballot. Today her campaign sent out an email telling supporters to make sure they tick the box for the right Chow.

NEW: Keel Digital Solutions, once awash in government grants, is being ordered into receivership, removing it from the control of executives. Its last hope of repaying the millions it owes was its counterclaim against the Ford government, which it tried unsuccessfully to settle.
