I’d like to read more but it’s hard when proofreading is my job. But when I do read for pleasure, I get such a feeling of calm, of being taken to another place and away from the world for a while. Same with non-league football. Your mind needs to breathe. Reading isn’t a chore.

once you start playing older games you begin to understand that graphics were never as important as gameplay

KILLED BURNOUT.
KILLED TITANFALL.
KILLED MIRROR’S EDGE.
KILLED ANTHEM.
KILLED SPORE.
KILLED SSX.
KILLED ARMY OF TWO.
KILLED SIMCITY.
KILLED COMMAND & CONQUER.
Fuuuuuck. BioWare made some of my favourite ever games, above all the original Baldurs Gate and Dragon Age Origins, but Neverwinter Nights, Icewind Dale, Mass Effect, KOTOR all brilliant. What a sad end for them.
Tonight’s game @Blyth_Spartans 3-2 @Matlock_TownFC, great entertainment. Blyth had a hatful of goals disallowed, some more legitimately than others, and can’t say they didn’t deserve the win. Jack Foalle worked himself into the ground as ever

Blyth Town had to weather an early storm against North Shields and were under pressure for much of the game but had their own chances. Could have been several goals on another night @Blyth_TownFC @NorthShieldsFC @theleadnl @NonLeagueCrowd @NonLeagueHQ1
Tonight’s game - @Blyth_TownFC v @NorthShieldsFC, should be a good one
Northern lights season is upon us again, love seeing so many people out for them @ourwhitleybay
Today’s game - @WhitleyBayFC 1-0 @MarskeUnitedFC, tough conditions in the wind, game settled by a first half header from Mackenzie Sharp after a bit of hesitancy in the Marske defence. Another solid performance, Whitley in a great run of form now, unbeaten in 8. Keep it up boys
Tonight’s game, @Blyth_TownFC coasted into the quarter finals of the Senior Cup with a 5-0 win against @Prudhoeycfc, goals from Lamb, Mitchell, Reid, Adamson, and Parker
Tonight’s game is @Ashington_FC v @PonteCollsFC, long old trip for the visitors
Long trip but 3 points for @PonteCollsFC, went behind after a defensive mistake but hit back with two quickfire goals. Superb performance from Matty Alexander in goal for @Ashington_FC kept the score at 2-1, otherwise would have been a heavy defeat

He served prison time for perjury after extracting enormous damages in a libel case which destroyed a woman's life. He also lied relentlessly about almost everything. But he was a great friend of the people that matter, and that, my friends, is all that matters in this country.
Very sad to have had to announce the death of my friend Jeffrey Archer on the show last night. A man of talents, flaws, positivity and bouncebackability, with a zest for life. He was a terrific interviewee. He sometimes invited me to his flat on Albert Embankment as he loved political gossip. His trilogy of Prison Diaries remain the best books of the last 20 years on what life is like in prison. He sold 350 million books in 47 languages in 114 countries but the literary cogniscenti always looked down their noses at him. I tried in vain to get him to write his autobiography. Yes, he sometimes lacked judgement, no he never achieved his aim to be a front rank politician, yes he did some bad things. But what a life. What. A. Life. @Jeffrey_Archer

As an adult, one of the hardest decisions you’ll ever make, is when to throw away the box after buying a new electrical appliance.
I do agree with this but I really didn’t enjoy The Great Gatsby at 15 or when I tried it again at 35. I’ve revisited others though and enjoyed them far more
Comprehensive win for @jarrow_fc at @AFCNewbiggin this afternoon, 2 goals from Siyanbola and one apiece for Nelson and Beattie. Elliott was sent off in the first half for Biggin, and keen eyes will spot Jarrow’s 4th beat Livingstone in goal after Huddlestone was sin binned
