Is there good news about @AbdulElSayed?! I want to go to bed, but not until I hear ❤️🙏

Most young people (and a lot of people in general) do not know or remember a time when Democrats won by so much—and with that power, Democrats have a huge window and, indeed, responsibility to pass bold legislation without shame, hold people accountable, and deliver relentlessly.

HELL YEAH!
As of now it looks like Democrats will have 55 Senate Seats and at least 250 House seats! It's a landslide victory!
That means that Don Jr, Jared Kushner, Eric Trump, all the businesses who did business deals with the Trump family, and all of the Epstein co-conspirators will likely be subpoenaed to testify publicly in front of America!

I don’t discount the No Kings rallies in this. It was so inspiring to get out there with so many intelligent people who were just seething at what these gangsters were doing to our country. People we had never seen before in the streets. That was another turning point.

Thank you, Florida.
We didn’t get the result we fought for tonight. I’m not going to pretend that it doesn’t hurt.
But I want y’all to hear me. What we built together is REAL. Every door you knocked, every call you made, every dollar you gave and every friend you brought to the polls proved that working people in this state are ready for something better.
That movement isn’t going anywhere, and neither am I.
The fight continues.

The media will drag these races out for as long as humanly possible. Why? RATINGS. They want every last second of suspense.
But here's the truth: When the dust settles, Democrats will have taken back the House, flipped the Senate, and captured multiple governorship. The math is already there.
They can delay the headlines, but they can't change the outcome.
Not a blue ripple. Not a blue splash. A MASSIVE BLUE WAVE.
And there's nothing MAGA can do to stop it.

The entire Democratic Party owes Zohran Mamdani a huge thank you.
Before he burst onto the scene, the party was directionless. We had lost our way, our mojo, and our confidence. We abandoned the working class, and voters abandoned us in return.
Zohran got us back on track with energy, clarity, and a real connection to the people we left behind. Without him, we might not be where we are today.

Republicans will tell themselves this was just about the war & gas prices, but it was so much more. The corruption, spinelessness, weaponization of DOJ, the ICE killings and brutality, the smug cruelty of stepping on the most vulnerable, tariffs, Hegseth, Miller, Noem, on & on.

Profoundly heartbreaking to see voters from Texas to Minnesota leave their “I Voted” stickers at memorials for people killed by Trump’s ICE agents.
A reminder of what’s at stake this election.
Buttigieg: A Democratic majority in congress would have the power to force the important issues back into the center of the conversation. We would not be spending all day talking about the reflecting pool, when we could be talking about health care.
We wouldn't constantly be sucked into debates about The Cheesecake Factory. We could be raising the minimum wage and very important things like making sure we have reform in our political system, ending partisan gerrymandering.
These are things that would move through congress and we could force them to the president's desk. At best, we get good policies. At worst, we get good fights.

MAGA is not conservatism. Period. It is a radical reactionary movement built around authoritarianism, parochialism, and a cult of personality. Its economic policies also reject free-market principles in favor of dirigisme and protectionist tariffs that give the government a greater role in shaping the economy. The movement is a fragmented set of beliefs, heavily dependent on the whims of a man who may not be entirely in control of his faculties. The justifications and rationalizations offered for his policies and actions are baffling.
I wrote an essay some time ago about why conservatives should vote Democratic. It isn’t aimed at the inevitable trolls who will flood the replies. It’s for conservatives who recognize that Republicans have failed them but are planning to stay home. Read the essay, and consider voting Democratic instead..

THE MOST INCOMPETENT WAR IN HISTORY: SARAH PAINE ON TRUMP’S IRAN DISASTER
Dr. Sarah Paine, a leading historian of great-power conflict and strategy, delivers a blunt verdict on the Iran war. She calls it one of the most incompetent wars in human history. The decision ignored basic principles of assessment, put maximum costs on America itself, and left permanent damage to the country’s power and alliances. This is not hindsight—it is the predictable result of hubris meeting reality.
THE CORE VERDICT
➡️ “The Iran war is probably one of the most incompetent wars in human history.”
➡️ A competent war puts the costs on the enemy and minimizes them for yourself.
➡️ This one did the opposite.
THE COST CATASTROPHE
➡️ It trashed the US economy.
➡️ It blew the US alliance system.
➡️ Iran is hurting, but the collateral damage is taking down the world’s economy.
➡️ That transforms the United States from a partner into an annoyance—and for many, a primary adversary—because it is threatening their economies.
➡️ “That’s breathtakingly incompetent.”
THE STRATEGIC BLIND SPOT
➡️ Any serious assessment looks at the enemy’s strengths and your own weaknesses, plus everyone else who might intervene.
➡️ That was absent.
➡️ The first thing Iran would do is shut Hormuz. Narrow seas close in wartime. Ukraine already showed this with the Black Sea.
➡️ Shore artillery, mines, and other tools stop traffic. There is no mystery here.
➡️ The big naval base in Bahrain becomes unreachable. The fallback is Diego Garcia, 2,500 miles away in the middle of nowhere. “That would be a mess.”
THE HUBRIS THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE
➡️ The people making the calls are historically unqualified for the job. That makes them profoundly dangerous.
➡️ Type A hubris assumes all decisions that matter happen in the United States.
➡️ Type B hubris assumes being good at one thing makes you good at everything.
➡️ Half-court tennis: you only watch your own side and never study the other team.
➡️ The Iranians understand Americans far better than Americans understand them.
THE UNFEASIBLE OBJECTIVE
➡️ Trying to “solve” Iran with 90 million people was never realistic.
➡️ Nazi Germany had roughly 80 million and required an occupation force of about 1.5 million just to hold it after the war—before counting everyone else.
➡️ The goal was unattainable. Pursuing it guarantees overextension and a bad ending.
➡️ The lesson the world takes is simple: get a nuke. The war incentivized proliferation.
➡️ This was a pivotal error. The choices that existed before are gone and will not return. “We will never be the trusted partner ever again. It’s done.”
THE BOTTOM LINE
The Iran war did not merely fail. It maximized American costs, destroyed trust with allies, and handed every rival a clearer reason to treat the United States as a threat to their own prosperity. Competence would have contained the problem at affordable cost. Hubris chose the opposite.
This is what permanent strategic damage looks like.
