Mississippi's labor force and labor force participation rate boomed in 2024 but have been in decline since early 2025. fred.stlouisfed.org/series/M… fred.stlouisfed.org/series/L…

Tate prefers the top graph, which includes out-of-state workers and second and third jobs. The bottom graph shows the number of MSians who have jobs. Both show robust growth in 2021-2024 followed by stagnation/decline since 2025. fred.stlouisfed.org/series/M… fred.stlouisfed.org/series/L…

Cindy high prices coming out as Degrowth.
Cindy Hyde-Smith clearly does not want to serve another term as a senator. Here she is doubling down on her suggestion that people mad about high beef prices should eat a different protein. Scott Colom might really beat this lady in Mississippi

She……..doubled down on it??????????
Oh boy, on the eve of Trump’s visit to Mississippi, Cindy Hyde-Smith *doubles down* on her other “proteins to choose from” comment. “Thank goodness when mothers want to feed their families when you go out shopping, there are proteins, you want to feed meat, there are some cheaper prices. And that’s what that statement was about.” #mssen

I'm glad Trump can't just say he's mad Lula beat Flavio and decree new taxes on Americans who buy things from Brazil. Thank you, SCOTUS!

This is why they’ve kept Cindy Hyde-Smith in a witness protection program. This Senator hasn’t had a single town hall in 6 years and literally runs away from reporters who ask real questions. She can run but can’t hide on Election Day. @scott_colom is coming for this seat

Looks like Democrats stopped losing momentum in Florida at the same time Trump rallied in Florida.
This is unprecedented, we are halfway through the early voting period in Florida and Dems are EXPANDING their EV lead. I don't expect it to last tomorrow, but then again I have been saying that for three days straight now... Dems lead statewide by 8000 votes

According to the results of Brazil's runoff election today, Trump will continue raising taxes on Americans who buy things from Brazil until Congress stops him.
New "national emergency" just dropped. Seems like a stretch! whitehouse.gov/fact-sheets/2…

"They're willing to give us anything" the same way Oren Cass is about to beat Scott Lincicome at arm-wrestling.
TRUMP on Canada/Trade War: Canada has been ripping off the US for years. I had to do it. We'll have that settled pretty soon. They're willing to give us anything at this moment.

When can @iamwesmoore come down and knock on doors in the Sip?
Gov. Wes Moore said Sunday that he believes several statewide races in the historically red U.S. South are “in play” for Democrats this cycle, adding that the party has “made mistakes in not investing earlier” in the region. abcnews.link/MO59zAw

A whole lot of Republicans in Mississippi know that a vote based on merit is a vote for Scott.

If Sen. Boyd is unwilling to say that Mississippi deserves representation in the Senate that delivers for us at least as well as Sen. Moran delivers for Kansas, then she should not be talking about higher-education funding at all.
I agree with @NicoleAkinsBoyd that there are lots of good things happening in MS that are worth celebrating, but I still don't understand why Sen. Hyde-Smith made #MSleg pay so much of the bill for for MS's cancer centerwhen Sen. Moran took home $115M for KS's cancer center.

I am excited about UMMC's new cancer center, but I don't understand how Mississippi's Senate appropriator brought home so little federal support when Kansas' Senate appropriator delivered $115 million for Kansas' similar new cancer center.
