I’ve left Anthropic after more than a year of working on Claude Code and seeing it scale larger than I ever imagined.
I have really loved working at Ant and believe deeply in the mission, and most of all, the idea of a race to the top.
The idea that if we work hard and responsibly, we can raise the bar and inspire others to great outcomes. And if we all push each other to be better, things can be radically good. I will carry the spirit of this with me forever.
My colleagues at Anthropic are the most talented, thoughtful, competent, and earnest people I have ever met. I am glad they are at the wheel and trust them deeply.
To the community on X, thank you for everything. You’ve made this the most fun (and sometimes stressful) job I’ve ever had.
For me, it is time for a bit of a break before diving into something new.

To put what Espart is doing into perspective, get this:
• He starts preseason in the pivot and looks absolutely sublime. A midfielder by trait, and it couldn’t have been more obvious.
• Then the season starts. Balde’s situation gets messy, Cancelo arrives late in the window and isn’t sharp yet, and… Flick turns to Espart.
Mind you, he’d effectively never played at LB before. Yet, you’d assume he’d spent years there as a seasoned pro. Objectively bonkers from day 1.
• Now, for the icing on the cake: an away trip to PSG, an injury crisis at the back, and not a single available RB. Flick, naturally, turns to Espart again. His assignment? Just one of the best left wingers in the world. Arguably the best.
Espart proceeds to boss him defensively, then pops up at the other end to score a sublime goal. Because apparently, shutting down his flank wasn’t enough.
