Researchers and historians are concerned about Epic Games' Sketchfab to Fab migration, worrying their free 3D models won't be downloadable come 2025.
Epic itself assures they've got nothing to worry about: 80.lv/articles/historians-ar…

Some new 3D scanning experiments. This time asset was processed with software from @inciprocal.
Such scans can be used in many ways but also as a realistic texture reference for 3D Artists.
Are you interested in more such references?

A few more examples of raw low-poly solid geometry with overlayed point cloud straight from the structured light process to capture and render non-hard surfaces. All the scattering and GI effects during path tracing stay quite consistent across connection regions.

Have been scanning some really "interesting" shoes for Adidas and at some point... what the hell are those stair steps. That doesn't look right, what the heck :) I did not realize they now 3D print parts of the shoe. Some type of semi-translucent printed gel with layers here.

e.g. we can reconstruct all BSDF parameters in a view-dependent way and then compress all different views with, let's say, spherical harmonics or spherical gaussians. Here is an example of single-view capture (image)

First units of our advanced photometry kits. Starting with 4-5 lights for basic prop scanning. 12-13 for mode advanced material reconstruction accuracy as well as single view flat surface scanning. 15-30 for static full and semi-domes for characters and faces.
