As well as Mozart, another musical genius b otd (1965): my Dandie Dinmont terrier Dandy. In fact, I think he must have been Mozart's reincarnation, since it was to the latter's C-major piano sonata that he howled most expressively (and if we changed key, he'd give up in disgust).

Duke Richard of Buccleuch is also chief of Clan Scott and in Feb 2015 he gave his blessing for the Dandie Dinmont Terrier breed to adopt the (Private) B&W Walter Scott Tartan, making then the only breed of dog with their very own Tartan! Now worn proudly all over the world!

The earliest known image of a Dandie Dinmont Terrier was painted in 1770 by Thomas Gainsborough of Henry 3rd Duke of Buccleuch, this is the present Duke, Richard, standing in front of it holding a present-day Dandie and yes the Duchess is Parton of the DDTC

Old Ginger and Sir Walter Scott  Every Dandie Dinmont terrier alive today, with amusing topknot, big eyes, little legs and pendulous ears, can be traced back to Sir Walter Scott’s day — Old Ginger. It’s the only breed that is allowed to sport its own clan tartan.
