The positive force of nature that is @hjoycegender. Speaking powerfully today at the scrutiny of the ridiculous Conversion Practices Bill and elsewhere. #binthebill. When you've finished watching, read this: thehelenjoyce.com/p/terf-isl…

I’d like to hear more organizations, workplaces and schools spell out what their diversity and inclusion policies mean for people who don’t share the beliefs behind them. When reminding everyone of policies supporting trans identities, explain what happens to people who don’t believe sex change is possible, who distinguish between male and female coworkers, or who aren’t comfortable sharing bathrooms or giving up female-only groups and spaces. What are they expected to do? What can they decline? What happens if they object? If someone could be fired, removed from a group or denied access to a space, say so plainly. And explain how you’ll protect people from social ostracism for disagreeing. Too many policies arrive from the top down wrapped in the language of inclusion, while leaving the consequences of disagreement conveniently unclear. People are left to comply out of fear of finding out. If a policy demands agreement with a particular belief, be honest about that demand. Don’t call it diversity while leaving people guessing whether their own beliefs are grounds for exclusion.

I want you all to know this. There are 650 MPs in Parliament. Yet the one MP chosen by @UKLabour to Chair the Bill Committee for the controversial, dangerous and dismally bad draft legislation, the Conversion Practices Bill, is Alex Barros-Curtis. Until July 2024, when Alex was given a very safe Labour seat in Cardiff, he was the Head of the Labour Party's Governance and Legal Unit in London. This was a department set up to investigate complaints against members of the Labour Party. Complaints of antisemitism, Islamophobia, abuse, and of course latterly, mostly women holding legally-protected 'Gender Critical' (sex realist) beliefs. Alex oversaw the investigation of hundreds of members who liked or tweeted gender critical or feminist views. I was one of them. He investigated me, as a sitting Labour MP, for 13 months. 13 months to 'investigate' one like of one tweet. I had a great lawyer, one of the names we're all now familiar with, and I had to crowdfund to pay for his (excellent) work. They first tried in 2020. But the screenshots crudely attached to that passive aggressive, threatening-sounding email from LP admin staff were so risible that I replied that it was too ridiculous for me to waste my precious time on. They left it. Years of Starmer bumbling and stuttering through interviews about whether he had spoken to me, whether he supported me, etc followed. My feminist sins continued apace. And then I 'liked' a tweet by my GC comedian friend @Glinner. He had mocked Eddie'Suzy' for comparing his choice to wear traditional women's clothing, fake plastic breasts and nails, to those being persecuted by the Nazis during WWII. I found his sarcasm, as a award-winning comedy writer in the face of such offensive narcissism amusing and so 'liked' it. I found it absurd and obscene that Izzard, an extremely privileged and wealthy man, who openly changed his 'gender' at will, should write himself into history falseley as someone who would have been oppressed due to a circumstance beyond his control. We all know the groups who were tortured, starved and killed... There is obviously more to my story, I will tell it all, it's just one chapter of the years of spiteful abusive and bullying practices meted out to me by the Labour Party managers. Not those who'd achieved office on merit, or even unexpectedly, but those in the club, often having failed to be elected themselves. So Barros-Curtis who we were repeatedly told led 'the many *independent* inquiries into women members and MPs like me, now often stands as a trans-rights activist on the Labour backbenches. He has also been gifted the role of Chair of this Committee and is a huge supporter of this Bill. And I am not a part of the Bill Committee, although plenty of TRA MPs are. Does that sound like the democratic scrutiny of legislation to you?

This apology from disability charity Scope, for cancelling my choir’s London Marathon performance because of my gender-critical views, is required to stay on its website for seven days. Today is Day 6. Women don’t always get the apologies they deserve. So I’d be grateful if you could help make sure this one is seen by sharing it over the next 24 hours (link below). 🙏 Thanks again to @SpeechUnion for supporting my legal case and helping secure this apology.

Evey single Labour MP says they are listening, and prevents replies. You're taxing us into oblivion!
The Tories committed an act of vandalism to Britain's economy. Labour's job is to fix it. That means spreading money and power out of Westminster, into every postcode of this country.

And stupid.
It’s been an honour to serve as your Deputy Leader for the past year. I promised to take back the political megaphone and set out a clear message about what we stand for and whose side we are on. That’s exactly what we’re doing: being boldly, confidently, authentically Labour. mirror.co.uk/news/politics/l…

How about, go fuck yourself?
Genital preferences are fine and normal, however, equating them and sexuality is very transphobic and is one of the many reasons trans lesbians dont feel safe to interact with lesbian spaces (regardless of how accepting the majority of lesbians are)

1/ This article by the Equalities Minister Bridget Phillipson is downright misleading. What is said about the law is unreliable, it confuses civil statutes for criminal ones and it completely ignores the principles of statutory constructions in crime. I explain why here:
Look at Bridget Phillipson's language here: a bill that 'allows people to be their true selves', to 'live openly and safely as themselves', that criminalises someone who tries to 'change who someone is'. The Conversion Practices bill applies in the case of a child who says they're the opposite sex. Think about that. Apply Phillipson's thinking to the parent of a four year-old boy who says 'mummy, I'm really a girl'. Or to the parent of a teenage girl who is screaming 'I'm not your daughter I'm your son, you bigot!' By trying to present the bill as completely reasonable 'common sense measures' Phillipson has only succeeded in exposing its ideological basis. Her language is pure trans activism. archive.ph/BDRJN

Yet another MP who closes replies. Whoever is running you're comms strategy is not paying attemtion.
Starting today, @googlemaps is integrating real-time petrol and diesel prices for the first time. This new feature uses the UK Government's Fuel Finder data, which forces petrol stations to report price changes within 30 minutes. Read more here 👇 gov.uk/government/news/drive…

My statement on the third anniversary of the October 7 attacks.

You're a liar and a member if an antisemitic party. Now, @AngelaRayner what does that make you?
Three years since the terrorist attacks of October 7, we remember those who were murdered, honour their memory, and hold in our thoughts all those who continue to feel the hurt and loss of that day.   And for too many Jewish communities here in the UK, October 7 wasn't just one day: it marked the beginning of escalating antisemitism here on British soil.   Jewish communities should be able to live safely, freely and proudly. Today and every day, we stand with you.

Next stop @HelenWebberley and co. You're going down, bitches!!!
A New York jury just awarded $2 MILLION to a young woman who underwent a double mastectomy at 16 and later detransitioned. The jury found her psychologist and surgeon liable for malpractice. Her case alleged that serious mental-health issues, including depression, body dysmorphia, anorexia and autism-spectrum traits, were not adequately addressed before an irreversible procedure was performed on a minor. Now watch what happens when someone like her speaks publicly. For years we were told regret was exceedingly rare. We were told these procedures were necessary care. We were told questioning the process itself was dangerous. But when a detransitioner stands up and says, “This happened to me,” suddenly she becomes the problem. That is the epistemic tell. When evidence supports the narrative, it is celebrated. When evidence contradicts the narrative, the person carrying the evidence gets attacked. A jury heard the testimony. A jury examined the evidence. A jury found malpractice. And a jury put the damages at $2 million. You don’t protect vulnerable young people by demanding silence from the ones who came back and said, “I wish someone had slowed this down.” You protect them by listening. #AStoneGroove #SilentMajoritySpeaks
