There is now and soon to follow a cambrian explosion of security vulnerabilities being exposed. Many were found by SI over recent months and the problem will get worse before it gets better. Prepare
« Où en serions-nous si nos pères n’eussent repoussé la force par la force ? »

Amazing
Through the VOICE trial, Terry is using his Neuralink implant to help fine-tune a brain-to-voice interface for himself and others who can’t speak. He trained the algorithm first by miming speech as best he could, then by simply thinking the words and hearing them come out in his own natural voice.

There is an unseen hand pushing AI safety as a political ideology.
Effective Altruists believe a tiny group of technocrats should decide how much technological progress the rest of us are allowed to have…. and how many shrimp your life is worth.
You are witnessing their attempted coup.

Congrats on your retirement, Rick Santelli, you will be missed. This was one of my favorites of you speaking the truth -- thank you!

BREAKING: The first fully operational commercial nuclear microreactor will be deployed at a U.S. Army installation in 2028.
To achieve this, the Army has awarded a combined $2.2 Billion to five competing commercial companies.
It’s also worth noting that a lot of uninformed environmental objection to nuclear power was pushed by fossil fuel interests starting as far back as the 1960s, when they realized that abundant nuclear would basically wipe out oil demand.
Fossil fuel interests have consistently opposed nuclear the same way they’ve opposed other clean energy (solar, wind, etc) by pushing overblown fears of each. The environmental Left has been tragically played.
The reason nuclear is enjoying a renaissance today (alongside record solar and wind) is because the internet broke the stranglehold on centralized distribution of information and allowed real technical experts to start fighting back against misinformation.
Equivalent "TVPI" if one had simply invested in the (highly liquid, marginable) public market in January 2018 to today:
S&P 500: 3.23×
Nasdaq "QQQ": 4.75×
Compared to the VC asset class, these would be:
S&P 500: ~90th percentile
Nasdaq "QQQ": ~95th percentile
God bless @RobertKennedyJr.
Amazing to watch @DanaBashCNN ’s vapid allegiance to the Orwellian lies she and her network peddled incessantly to the American people as partisan political actors. Zero regard for the truth, especially when it affected our kids. A disgrace.
.@SecKennedy NUKES @DanaBashCNN:
"I'm not debating this with you."
"Of course you won't. All you know how to do is repeat things that people told you and say, 'Trust the experts!' That's what you did during Covid. Now we know that Anthony Fauci, who was the 'expert,' was lying about everything... now, you're rolling out the 'experts' again to talk about something that you have no personal knowledge of."

Nobody is saying that all software has to be open source. What they’re saying is that open-weight AI should be allowed. By implication, they’re rejecting your company’s incessant machinations to kneecap the open model ecosystem. Read the room.
I’m so excited that @JensenHuang is a believer in open source now, looking forward to the CUDA and GPU driver open source release!

For more than six decades, the Cuban regime has been the leading sponsor of radical leftism and Third Worldism in the United States.

The U.S. military confirmed multiple military variant Saronic Corsairs, our 24ft ASV, were used in strikes to degrade Iran’s ability to continue attacking commercial shipping — marking the first time American forces have employed sea drones in combat operations.
We are proud that our technology supported this mission and helped to keep the brave men and women of the U.S. armed forces safe. Saronic remains committed to delivering autonomous maritime systems that strengthen the security of America and its allies.
Yesterday, using multiple one-way attack surface drones, CENTCOM forces successfully struck a submarine and ship maintenance facility in Iran. Three Corsair unmanned surface vessels hit the port at Bandar Abbas Naval Base, marking the first time American forces have employed sea drones in combat operations. Last night’s strikes degraded Iran’s ability to continue attacking commercial shipping.
May we be worthy heirs to the men who won the Revolution and faithful stewards of the republic they left in our keeping. #USA

NYC had a nuclear power plant 36 miles away called Indian Point.
It supplied carbon-free safe power that would mean no one would need to turn up their thermostats.
But it was closed in 2021 by the degrowth Death Cult. Now NYC relies on fossil fuels for 90% of its power 🫠
New York: it's hot out there, and the power grid is working overtime to keep us cool.
Set your AC to 78 degrees, turn off lights/electronics you're not using, and unplug what you can.
Our City is doing its part too: maintaining the 78 degrees rule in our buildings, dimming/turning off our lights during peak electricity demand, asking private partners to do the same, and powering down non-essential equipment.
A stable grid means the AC stays on, and lives are saved. Let's ease demand — and get through the heat — together.

A historic achievement for America’s nuclear renaissance:
Antares Nuclear, a participant in @ENERGY’s Reactor Pilot Program, had their reactor successfully reach criticality at @INL — the first privately developed non-light-water reactor to do so in the United States in more than four decades
The U.S. is proud to work with partners through the Nuclear Energy Agency (NEA) to advance next-generation nuclear technologies and looks forward to co-chairing the @NEA Roadmaps to New Nuclear Ministerial Conference this September.
