Most notably, this is the first time in Disney Channel history that they have absolutely no live-action series in production They have a few things in development, but nothing greenlit

Worth noting that these minutes include both streaming and linear TV (broadcast and cable TV) Since all these toons air for 10+ hours a week on cable, that gives them a bit of boost compared to shows that are only available through streaming.
Nielsen has revealed the 2026 most streamed animated series by minutes.

UPDATE: The Throwback event has been cancelled due to low ratings. Disney Channel's regular evening movies/TV shows bring in about 200K-300K viewers on average. These shows were barely able to graze 100K viewers.
Disney Channel is airing some of its classic TV shows and movies all this week from 5p to ~12a. Then they'll continue every Thursday all summer starting next week, as part of the Disney+ and Hulu's "Throwback" event.

Not much of a surprise IMO. Disney Channel still retains a high amount of kid viewership (unlike CN) and Bluey and Big City Greens reruns are more appealing to them than reruns of 2000s shows. Not to mention this event was never promoted anyway, not like that'd help any better

Fox will air two new episodes of American Dad! on June 21 at 9p for Father's Day. They're the last two episodes to air before the 400th episode.

There will still be four additional episodes after this, which will probably air later in the summer.

Reruns of classics seem to do very well for Disney Channel. Last year they aired two Lilo & Stitch: The Series marathons and now they air the series on a regular basis. Their 20th anniversary Hannah Montana marathon scored pretty good too.

Fox's new Animation Domination lineup starting this fall: 8:00p - The Simpsons (season 38) 8:30p - Animal Control (season 5) 9:00p - Universal Basic Guys (season 3) 9:30p - Grimsburg (season 3) Family Guy, American Dad!, Bob's Burgers and Krapopolis get held for midseason.

This new lineup also helps even out the shows, now the midseason schedule can have four consistent shows like the fall schedule And not have to use the 9:30p slot for an extra new Family Guy or various reruns.

Even with Animal Control joining, the branding still works. Animation still dominates the lineup. Plus this isn't the first time a live-action show was part of the block, shows like Malcolm in the Middle and The War at home aired as part of the block too.
