When the bells of history are tolling for America…will it disunite or reunite? Which way will the fault lines break? As I write in the link below this post: “Sometimes I even wonder if Aldous Huxley’s Brave New World is more ascendant and relevant in today’s world than George Orwell’s 1984, and then the next day the future feels more Orwellian, all over again.” Can American democracy slowly take itself off at-home life support or will the alert alarms go to DEFCON One and America is taken away to the emergency room of history? Despite the face of anti-democratic forces knocking on the door — and promoting a distinctly autocratic dystopian form of a plutocratic alt-ocracy, infused by nativist, nationalistic fervor and violent rhetoric, as the replacement for American democracy — my bet is still with a diverse majority plurality of We the People prevailing and seeding the regeneration of a renewed living democracy in America for all. And in the link below, I also share a few thoughts on the challenges I faced and state of my own health — and also the experiences I endured when targeted as an enemy of the state in the eyes of the government — as an analog, in part, on the health of democracy in America and taking the pulse of its Constitutional Republic, while holding up the unblinking looking glass mirror of history.
