Robots are going to be really capable really soon. Here’s what we’ve been cooking 🧑‍🍳
Cleaning just got a looooooot easier! Here’s a day in the life of one of our Loki’s deployed in a commercial office space. By exploiting the problem structure and environment consistency, we combine autonomy with remote teleoperation to perform cleaning and day-to-day maintenance tasks reliably.

Two friends launching their company today. Really bullish on teams building prototypes at customer’s site (esp if trash/dirt is involved)
Grip builds intelligent robots that pick the trash existing sorting machines can't. Robotic manipulation just started working. Foundation models can now grasp the deformable, entangled, never-before-seen objects that waste streams are full of, on hardware that's finally cheap enough to make the economics work. We install modular robotic cells and every pick makes the whole fleet smarter. We start with plastic contamination in organic waste, then expand to every stream where machines still leave the hard objects to humans. Grip is becoming the general manipulation platform for global waste infrastructure. Founded by robotics engineers from ETH Zürich. Backed by Y Combinator (S26).

So proud of what the team has been able to accomplish in such a short period of time! If the idea of shipping millions of useful robots resonates, come build with us.
8-hour shifts. Day-in, day-out. A robot fleet deployed across continents. For the last 6 months, our robots have been at work and embedded into daily facility management workflows in data centers, office buildings, and campuses around the world. Here is what we have learned:

🇨🇭🚀@BoostVC and @EarthlingVC were literally the first two, high-conviction believers in what @arbwes and I are building at @loki_robotics. And they're just super awesome people to work with. If you're building in deep-tech here in Zürich, make sure not to miss out on this one!
Amped to share our first @BoostVC X @EarthlingVC $100k start-up pitch competition investing at @ETH_en We're doubling down on ETH to help extraordinary technical founders kick-start with a first check investment to get started

Zurich isn’t present on the global tech-scene often. Incredible builders go under the radar. That’s changing! Our Robotic Hack with @mimicrobotics , @loki_robotics, and @OpenAI was packed with robots, talent, energy, SF-vibes, and insane projects. But there was a tough competition for the most impressive demo in ~48h. The builders brought many robots. The startups had even more. We had robot arms everywhere, mobile robots, robot dogs, hands, … A humanoid said hi. To judge the best robotic builders in Zurich we couldn’t just take chance. So, we got the leading professors to take a look what was cooked up over the weekend: Marc Polleyfeys (@mapo1), Prof. Marco Hutter, and Prof. Robert Katzschmann (@katzschmann)! Still, there needs to be a winner… Although LLMs are everywhere, it’s not always the best solution. BRCKD.ai (Barnabas Gavin, Yasunori Toshimitsu, Chenyu Yang, Alexander Alderman Webb, Zeno Hamers) built an impressive system that combined generative models with solvers etc. RoboTicTacToe (Daniel Gisler, Kyo Mangold, Arturo Roberti, Boshi An, Jiwon You) was the runner-up. Their narrated game demo was super fun to watch. And their trained policy was impressive. But never forget about the people who made all this happen! Huge thanks to -Mimic: @elvisnavah, Matteo (and so many more in the background!!) Loki: @arbwes, @mikshere OpenAI: @giffmana @arnie_hacker and @PascalBtd @generalcatalyst (@FritziReuter) @PrimeIntellect This was the best hackathon Zurich has seen yet. The best people. Incredible talent density and projects. (And you don’t want to miss the next one! 👀)

Robotics is soon going to transform our everyday life, and lots of great companies will be started in these couple of years. If you’re in Zurich, come build with us! 🤖
We are organising a robotics hackathon in Zurich together with Zurich Builds, @mimicrobotics , and @OpenAI. We feel that bringing together talented individuals in this very special time for robotics has a chance to create great long-term impact.

Marco knows what he's building - if you want to speed up your time to product check this out!
I’ve built hardware tools since I was a kid, but making designs manufacturable was a struggle. High school me wasted PLA, aluminium, and my mom’s patience selling machined parts on eBay. If you can relate. Give our tool a spin, we are bridging the design-manufacturing gap! ⚙️

Useful robots here :)
You can already have a robot cleaning your office. What we can currently do: 1. Clean office desks (apply cleaning agent, wipe surfaces) 2. Do full restroom cleaning (sink, toilet, floor, etc.) 3. Open/close doors and drive around.

Excited to share what @mikshere and I have been cooking in the last couple of months 🤖 The coming decade is going to be pretty wild (and clean)
Loki is the world's first robot cleaning service. Our cleaning crew uses robots to handle all the tasks they hate doing. Here's how:

Inverse kinematics is pretty cool. You can get the same leader arm control any follower arm by letting it track the leader end effector pose. A couple of tricks and it gets almost indistinguishable from joint space control

Me and @arbwes are open-sourcing the code to train the low cost robot (<250$) designed by @alexkoch_ai. This is the policy trained on a sorting task with less than 30 demonstrations. github.com/Shaka-Labs/ACT

Higher labor productivity leads to a better quality of life. I've heard automation doomers pointing out how with increased productivity, working hours stay the same because of the capitalistic hustle culture. Been fooled once, but data says otherwise. ourworldindata.org/working-h…

Been thinking at what the main message of every city I lived in is… Zurich - be smarter Milan - show that you look and feel good Copenaghen - be more sustainable Singapore - be richer Curious on how this shaped me over time, and what you can do by being conscious of this :)
