There is no such thing as a short, 3-4 day military operation—if we strike Iran, they will respond. We have consistently underestimated the most basic reality: the enemy gets a vote.
There is no military option that will persuade Iran to accept the U.S.’s terms for a deal—after 8 months of failing to restore order to the chaos it caused, the administration knows this— so what is the purpose of more strikes?
If we strike Iran by targeting more of their leaders and/or energy infrastructure, Iran will retaliate by striking Gulf energy infrastructure & U.S. forces in the region. More American troops will needlessly die, & our energy prices will continue to skyrocket.
Iran’s allies & proxies—like the Houthis, Iraqi militias, & possibly Bahraini groups—will attack Saudi energy infrastructure, the BAM/Suez, & will potentially attack the governments of Kuwait & Bahrain. We’re already unable to help the Saudis deter the Houthis—if we engage in kinetic combat against Iran, we’ll be even more incapable of assisting our already-weakened allies.
More strikes won’t change the game. Walking away & declaring victory before Tuesday sets a positive tone for the elections & resets the parameters for negotiations with Iran.
President Trump can avoid the escalation trap by walking away now, before the fog of war envelops the rest of his presidency.

Now answer: Why was IDBI Bank sold at a low valuation, why were rules changed mid process, who was the second bidder, why did you sell it when it turned profitable?
We all know how @INCIndia has used Banks and financial institutions as personal entities and pressured bank employees to extend loans at their whim, bypassing prudent lending norms.
Let me list a few instances.
- In 1957, Haridas Mundra got money from LIC due to influence by the Congress leaders.
- In 1976, Indira Gandhi's government removed SBI Chairman R.K. Talwar after he refused political pressure to relax lending conditions for a company linked to Sanjay Gandhi's circle.
- Sanjay Gandhi pressured the Central Bank of India over loans to Maruti.
- B. Janardhana Poojary, MoS Finance under Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi — pressured bank employees to issue loans in the 1980s.
- Pawan Kumar Bansal, as a minister in the UPA, pressured Canara Bank to give loans to his family-linked businesses.
The IDBI Bank was handed over to us in poor shape, as IDBI itself was forced to lend to large business groups with close connections to @INCIndia leaders such as Videocon, Winsome, ABG Shipyard, Kingfisher, etc. These turned into bad loans, causing huge losses for IDBI Bank, which we recognised.
The NDA govt led by Hon'ble PM Shri @narendramodi revived the IDBI bank through professionalism, prudence and recapitalisation of more than Rs 25,000 crores. The IDBI Bank is now poised for its next phase of growth.
All due process has been followed in the IDBI Bank strategic restructuring, and we have already clarified this yesterday.

ईरान, इराक, फिलिस्तीन — हर जगह मातम जैसा शोक था, जैसे कोई अपना चला गया हो।
ऐसा था भारत का स्थान पश्चिम एशिया में। ऐसी थी इंदिरा गांधी की विदेश नीति।
राहुल गांधी ने मोदी सरकार की विदेश नीति पर जो सवाल उठाए हैं, वो सिर्फ आलोचना नहीं थी —
वो उस नीति की हत्या पर शोक था,
जिसने भारत को दुनिया में मज़हबी ध्रुवीकरण से ऊपर उठाकर न्याय और संतुलन की मिसाल बनाया था।
उन्होंने बिल्कुल सही कहा —
“भारत की दशकों पुरानी संतुलित और स्पष्ट विदेश नीति को धूल-धूसरित कर दिया गया है।”
इंदिरा गांधी न तो धर्म देखकर विदेश नीति तय करती थीं,
न ही वोटबैंक देखकर देश की दिशा तय करती थीं।
उन्होंने यासिर अराफात को सिर्फ एक मज़हबी नेता नहीं,
एक स्वतंत्रता सेनानी माना।
जब दुनिया उन्हें आतंकवादी मान रही थी,
भारत ने उन्हें आत्मनिर्णय का हक़ दिलाने की आवाज़ बुलंद की।
1974 में इंदिरा गांधी ईरान गईं।
शाह मोहम्मद रज़ा पहलवी ने उनका ऐतिहासिक स्वागत किया।
तेहरान की सड़कों पर भीड़ उमड़ पड़ी थी।
भारत और ईरान ने सिर्फ तेल या व्यापार की बात नहीं की —
बल्कि शिक्षा, विज्ञान और संस्कृति में गहरी साझेदारी की नींव रखी।
भारत कभी ईरान के इस्लामिक चरित्र से डरता नहीं था,
और ईरान कभी भारत के धर्मनिरपेक्ष चरित्र पर उंगली नहीं उठाता था।
और सद्दाम हुसैन?
इराक के इस शक्तिशाली और विवादास्पद नेता से भी भारत ने रिश्ते बनाए।
क्यों?
क्योंकि भारत को तेल चाहिए था, मज़दूरों को रोज़गार चाहिए था,
और पश्चिम एशिया में रणनीतिक स्थिरता चाहिए थी।
इराक भारत को रियायती दरों पर तेल देता था।
हज़ारों भारतीय वहां काम करते थे —
सिर्फ पैसे के लिए नहीं, भारत के झंडे के भरोसे के कारण।
1971 में जब पाकिस्तान को भारत ने दो हिस्सों में बांट दिया,
तब दुनिया की महाशक्तियाँ भारत पर हमलावर थीं।
मगर ईरान, इराक, फिलिस्तीन ने भारत का विरोध नहीं किया।
बल्कि समझा —
भारत न्याय कर रहा है।
और जब अमेरिका का सातवाँ बेड़ा हिंद महासागर में घुसा भारत को डराने,
तब सिर्फ रूस नहीं खड़ा हुआ —
बल्कि पश्चिम एशिया के मुस्लिम देशों तक ने भारत के खिलाफ माहौल बनने नहीं दिया।
क्यों?
क्योंकि भारत की विदेश नीति में दोहरापन नहीं था।
वो मज़हबी तुष्टिकरण नहीं,
साफ़, राष्ट्रहित आधारित नीति थी।
और आज…
भारत ग़ज़ा पर चुप है।
इजरायल की गोद में बैठकर "वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम्" का जाप करता है।
शब्द हैं, आत्मा नहीं।
इंदिरा होतीं तो भारत दोनों से बात करता —
इजरायल से भी, ईरान से भी।
दुनिया को याद दिलाता कि
