Keynesian south park:
To whoever is doing the writeup sa UST NDMOs, there are tons of labels you could have actually used like reactionary, conservative, clerico-fascist, and etc.

Jean-Luc Picard remains the single most compelling vision of progressive politics I am familiar with — secular, rational, compassionate, egalitarian; a believer in progress & abundance but also duty, hard work, and a constant battle for self-improvement and improving the world.
Maybe if we get occupied by China, they should release Bo Xilai to be our administrator to flood us with slogans and Maoist era imagery. Mabuhay mga sloganista
I think there must be a tough conversation to have that regional powers are not black and white. A lot of people who believe in a multipolar world flattens China as a power of benevolence and good for the region.
Many anti-imperialists excuse imperialism if it executed by those in the region (i.e. asians ruling other asians or africans ruling other africans). Many leftists then lambast other foreign progressives or marginalized when they do not fit into this narrative.

I'm no geopolitical expert, but as a Filipino leftist, I think it's a no-brainer: we must build solidarity with the American and Chinese working classes and help them pressure their governments to stay the fuck out of the Philippines. Our self-determination is non-negotiable.

Ric Reyes' Mayoral run against the Eusebio dynasty, 2010
Ka Ric's a controversial figure of the PH Left (iykyk). But his run sure planted the seeds for the eventual downfall of the dynasty a decade later with the Vico in 2019 (he's been heading Vico's housing office since then)

LULA AND RISA 🇧🇷🇵🇭✊
Lula’s first presidential victory in Brazil in 2002, on his fourth attempt, inspired us as we launched Risa Hontiveros’ senatorial bid in 2010. We closely studied the victory of our sister party, the Partido dos Trabalhadores (PT), and even sent a study group to learn from their experience.
That victory taught us a powerful lesson. Electoral defeats are not the end of the road. Despite Risa’s losses in the 2010 and 2013 senatorial elections, we refused to give up. Inspired by Lula’s journey, we kept pushing against the ceiling until we finally broke through.
In 2016, Risa Hontiveros finally won a Senate seat. In 2022, she was re-elected, becoming the only candidate from the democratic opposition to win a Senate seat. And in 2025, Akbayan made history by garnering the highest number of votes ever received in Philippine partylist elections.
Today, the world celebrates Lula’s fourth presidential election victory, a remarkable come-from-behind triumph that reminds us that setbacks need not be the end of our story. With perseverance, conviction, and the courage to rise after every defeat, even the steepest setbacks can become stepping stones to victory.
Lula’s victory taught us that lasting electoral victories are built on the power of working people, strong and enduring political parties, the willingness to learn and unlearn, and the courage to persevere alongside the people even when the odds are stacked against us.

Brazil is such a fascinating place. You have a bad ass trans congresswoman, body slamming an arrogant right winger who has butthole shaving tutorials on YouTube. You can’t make this shit up.
