today my brilliant PhD student showed me an amazing plot of her results that was years in the making. It serves as a reminder that good science takes a really long time and all that hard work along the way requires incredible dedication. scientists are so underappreciated.

Check out my first PhD paper, detailing new observations of the stratigraphy of the 1883 eruption of Krakatau, revealed by the dec 2018 tsunami in the Sunda Straits. This dataset in integrated with the eruptive timeline and geochemistry to investigate the eruption progression 👇

Awesome stuff Sian! I'm doing some work on multiple thin salt layers and the kinematic interaction of immature salt structures! I touch on it in my first pre-print on @EarthArXiv, and have a follow up manuscript in the works!
