Busy Saturday night. No crews to get a prisoner to hospital. Mental health spiralling, hallucinations, banging Perspex. De-escalation failing & force looming. I started singing “We Are the World”. 30 seconds in, we’re all singing, prisoner included. Sometimes fun beats force.

Taken ill at work last night. Doubled over, struggling to breathe, sweating buckets. Ambos called, fentanyl given, ECG done, off to ED. 15 hours later: gallstones! I’m full of rocks, just not rich ones. 😂🪨 Huge thanks to workmates, Allan & Kyle at SAAS, and the FMC ED team💙💚
