We only had 11 players tonight and we played a very tough Alexander squad. We played 11 man offense and 9 man defense. Each team hit each other as hard as they could on the chin. When the clock struck zeros it was all tied up at 20 a piece. It was dog fight until the end.

He hit the nail on the head in in post
Wabash football coach Ryan Carmichael is stepping down after 20 years overall with the Apaches. He shared this message on Facebook. I think it’s worth a read, so posting it here.

True
Kids think they have forever. That high school football never ends. When you are a freshman it seems like it will always be there. Now we are 24 hours from the last game of the regular season. They don’t realize how fast it’s over. Never take it for granted. High school football is a beautiful experience through all of its struggles and all of the peaks and valleys it presents. Cherish the moment.

We played a rare Thursday junior high football game tonight. Fifteen Bishop Ryan Lions took on thirteen Tioga Pirates. It was a physical match up with both teams playing physical and running the ball hard. In the end the Tioga Pirates were victorious. Congrats to all involved

My JH kids decided to take a page from the @ZierMike playbook and get into a track meet with the South Prairie tonight. It was ugly at times on defense but we didn’t take our foot off of the gas pedal and we pulled away in the second half. Congrats to all involved

Bring back the “I” formation since we are putting quarterbacks under center again.

The word of the day for my jh kids is Resilient. We played a very physical game with a tough DLB team tonight. We got hit on the chin a couple of times but we responded each time and answered with scores of our own. I’m proud of my kids and congratulations to all involved

My little junior football kids continue to surprise me. Tonight they took on the RPL Outlaws over in Ray. They won 28-8. They are starting to get the concept of playing hard makes luck go your way in sports. I’m proud of them for learning that. Congratulations to all involved.

The Vikings are going to beat the Bears today not because they are better than the Bears, it will be because the Vikings love having quarterback controversies.

In Danks’ household, this is our go to when NOBODY wants to cook. Some good old deer sausage, rice, and salad for supper

I like what @OdermannNation_ is talking about here.
ICYMI: We had @OdermannNation_ on the show this morning where he shared his proposal for a new NDHSAA football system.

I like the way this guy phrased it.
I PRAY we never have another September 11th, but MAN we could really use another September 12th!

The Tioga junior high kids played really hard and found out good things happen when you play four quarters of football as hard as you can. Good job to all involved.

I agree with Gibson from Bismarck. What is going on is having a negative impact on the whole state. Watch the nine man scores. Those 70-0 blow outs are not helping the game of football in the state
A hot button issue on our show is how to fix the highest class of @NDHSAA football and what better guy to ask and give us his opinion than Bismarck High Coach Mark Gibson

This right here 👇
The fastest 12-year-old on the field is often just the earliest one to hit puberty. The kid who looks average now but can skip, hop, land, and change direction with control is still building the engine. Don’t confuse early success with future performance. Every athlete should be working to build these capacities, and definitely don't count a kid out before they are fully mature.

Very true.
The future of high school football depends less on convincing the best players to attend more showcases and more on convincing ordinary kids that there is still a place for them on the team. You can’t build an entire sport around elite prospects alone.
