Called it - Romesh filmed "What has the BBC ever done for me?" straight after filming #CelebrityTraitors on May 23. It's a remake of this classic 1985 @JohnCleese advert David Jason appeared in both. Attenborough appeared in picture in the original but only in voice in this time
Now this has wrapped , one of the celebs is going on to film an on air promotion for the BBC to air this summer which will modernise a classic older BBC promotion that everyone seemed to like from years ago

Fun fact btw, the current Doctor Who repeat run is also scheduled to end in Spring 2027 so if the timings work out there's a chance a 3am repeat of The Reality War makes this the last thing seen on BBC Three
NOO RIP again Doctor Who repeats, The Return of Doctor Mysterio-Smile will now truly never be repeated :(

With the wonderful Bina Dashnyam in the Margaz mountain range in Mongolia … who took me in search of Snow Leopards — he’s co-founder and lead wildlife guide/biologist for Soaring Expeditions, a Mongolian-owned private wildlife, photography, and adventure tour company operating since 2018. He’s absolutely brilliant! find out more at @soaringexpeditions expeditions.mn/ as I say in the #Mongolia episode of #Wilderness - Bina guided me in a largely undiscovered and under-studied corner of Mongolia. He’s fighting to get it declared a national park, which should bring it and the snow leopards much-needed protection. He’s an incredible, inspiring character, working to protect these awesome creatures. . Mongolia episode on @BBCTwo tonight sunday 18th Oct. . One reason I’d had enough after 19 years was the annual cuts were always sold as - ‘if we make these difficult decisions the BBC can survive for the long term’ I knew they’d be back each year. I understood why I just didn’t want to be there when they said “sorry now it’s you too”
BBC News is a good example of big cuts still to come. Today, it has told staff of 100 more job losses, saving £5.5m. That's on top of previous cuts of £25m and £1.8m. But it has to get to a total of £51m in cuts - so still plenty to come next year.

I’m worried the latest BBC cuts will lead to anger directed at them. Having lived in USA, I can only express how brilliant BBC is - no ads, great quality of some programmes, the fab radio service & sport coverage. We’re lucky to have it. I hate the cuts but cherish what we have

When DCMS bothers to talk about public service media, 'supporting the UK's creative economy' is always an easy get on the bingo sheet. Recent White Paper gossip & muted reactions to more brutal BBC cuts suggests that support still starts and ends with nothing but bromides

There are few things I need in life. Good food, good wine, a relaxing day at red ball cricket, some nice walks, a bit of a garden, a good book, a night at a cinema or theatre and @bbc RADIO 4 EXTRA. Please don’t take Radio 4 Extra from me. It’s such a refuge. 😭😭

Elon Musk will put up to $10 billion into Skydance to help the media giant pay down debt while also giving SpaceX satellite subsidiary Starlink a foothold in the entertainment business. That was the eye-opening prediction offered Wednesday by John Malone, the billionaire media mogul who has earned a reputation as a sage for his ability to anticipate the future. Musk had already been reported to be a potential investor in Skydance, but Malone highlighted his corporate portfolio as well as the relationship with Skydance backer Larry Ellison, father of CEO David Ellison. deadline.com/2026/10/elon-mu…
