Ravana killed Surpanakha's husband, and Surpanakha was waiting for the right time to seek revenge. After the nose incident, she purposefully described Sita's beauty to Ravana because she knew of her brother's lust. Ravana fell for the bait & got killed, this is the main reason.

Three weeks after Winston Churchill became prime minister, one of his most senior ministers told him to make a deal with Hitler. It was May 1940. Churchill was 65. France was about to fall to Germany. The entire British army, over 300,000 men, was trapped on a beach in France with the German army closing in. Lord Halifax, the minister in charge of Britain’s foreign policy, said the war was lost and that Britain should ask Hitler what peace terms he would accept. For three days they argued, and Churchill was losing the argument. So on May 28 he gathered the rest of his government, 25 ministers, in one room and gave them the choice. Britain could ask Hitler for terms, or Britain could fight. If Britain had to go down, he told them, then “let it end only when each one of us lies choking in his own blood upon the ground.” The room erupted. Ministers ran up to slap him on the back. Nobody mentioned a deal again. A week later, 338,000 soldiers had been rescued from that beach. Refuse to quit and the people around you will follow.
