Almost every manosphere take on women is just here’s this annoying or dark aspect of human nature that I refuse to acknowledge in myself so I’m just gonna claim that it’s a part of femaleness even though statistically men are actually more guilty of it on average

The idea that the problem with our culture is that men and boys are underrepresented in books, films, TV, etc, is so bonkers as to actually surely be some sort of delusion disorder requiring powerful medication
masculinity not having any meaning of its own outside of being a constant effort towards not-being-feminine will never not be funny
Books men like to read vs. Books women like to read:
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The chart shows proportions of male vs. female Goodreads reviewers by genre from Thelwall (2017), not books men or women like to read overall. Goodreads users are ~75% female.

we've been taught for so long that showing emotions is girly, that being angry and tough is manly.
Fathers will beat their baby boys for crying despite the fact that babies can't even talk
There are boys in the comments talking about the pressure to conform to this awful
#edrtwt hot take since we haven't had good discourse in a while 😗

It's interesting how this argument tends to be made:
1. When women were in the minority: "why do you even care if the protagonist looks like you, men don't care"
2. When men are in the minority: "boys are being DiSCouRaGed!", "society hates men!"
Young boys are being discouraged from getting into reading—and it’s because more books are missing one key element, @sophiah_n reports: theatlantic.com/culture/2026…

I've never read this book but the men in the replies aren't selling it well. There's a reason despite centuries of being marginalized in the field any serious reader of English literature has a bookshelf that's disproportionately female. Men don't care about relationships enough.

Lemme tell yall something about Versace S/S 2008. the clothes were doing VERY little lifting. the Grecian draping is gorgeous but it's the casting, hair, makeup and soundtrack that was doing the storytelling
this collection is peak millennial nostalgia. u really had to be there.

I studied art. And I studied who the subjects in a lot of the art were. Repeatedly enslaved women, colonised women, and sexualised and abused underage girls.
In that sense, yes the history of nude art has a lot in common with porn.
Replying to @RevytheTiefling
People who say porn destroyed society have never taken an art history class.
