they're not. The Supreme Court granting cert in Viramontes v. Cook County torpedoed the fear of new gun restrictions being a relevant factor for voters
The Dems have the filibuster (there will never be 51 votes in the Senate to abolish the filibuster)
🇺🇸 WE CAN STILL PASS THE TRUMP AGENDA! - Republicans still control the HOUSE and the SENATE until noon on JANUARY 3rd - and that is 60 days of raw power almost nobody is talking about!
The filibuster is NOT in the Constitution. It is a Senate RULE. A simple majority - 51 votes, or 50 plus VP JD VANCE - can change it in a single afternoon.
Do that, and the SAVE AMERICA ACT and the rest of the TRUMP agenda pass with 51 votes. The House passes them. TRUMP signs them!
HERES THE GOOD PART! - The Democrats can't undo any of it!
Repeal needs TRUMP'S signature, and he would VETO it. Overriding a veto takes TWO-THIRDS of both chambers. Democrats won't have that.
Those laws would stand until 2029 at the earliest. 🔥

For the last two years, the Trump Administration has been governed by a simple mantra: “We can just do things.” On Tuesday, voters replied, “So can we,” and wiped out the GOP. This was not a blue wave. This was not a blue tsunami. This was the breakup of a winning coalition.
Those voters, in breaking up the coalition, treated downballot races as proxies for their contempt of Washington, D.C. The race for dog catcher became nationalized because of Republican political malpractice.
In 2024, Donald Trump assembled a multiracial and multiethnic coalition of voters who bristled at the progressivism of the Democrats and the wreckage of the economy. By 2026, Trump and his White House acolytes set that coalition on fire to cater to a group of hyperonline grievance mongers who have confused Twitter with real life.
Last night, the American constitutional system worked as designed and worked so well and so thoroughly that the party that lied to itself in 2020 that it had lost only because the election was stolen is now lying to itself that it lost only because of gas prices and war. Last night’s drubbing was too complete to be theft.
It was gas prices.
And it was the war.
But it was also calling affordability a “hoax.”
And it was also the corruption.
The incompetence.
The tariffs.
The playing nice with Russia while treating our allies worse than our enemies.
The impression of cruelty.
The overly aggressive deportations.
The accidental arrests of American citizens who were Hispanic.
The arrogance.
The ballroom.
The reflecting poll.
The golf courses.
The arch.
The Qatari 747.
The aggressive redistricting push.
The threats against enemies.
It turns out a weekend Fox and Friends host might not be a reassuring beacon of competence to Americans.
Gas prices and the war cannot explain a wipe out from top to bottom in Texas or Georgia or losing South Carolina or Ohio or a total coast to coast wipe out. Only the simpletons can believe that.
Adam Hamilton won Finney County in Kansas, which was a Trump +35 county in 2024 and he did so with Hispanic voters. He did not do that just because of war and gas prices.
And shall we talk about Mississippi?
A few weeks ago, Bo French in Texas attacked University of Texas students who were American citizens of Indian descent. A portion of the President’s base cheered him on. Even some within the Administration, on public Twitter accounts tied to the Administration, echoed him. Those voters’ parents repudiated the racism in the GOP and wiped out Republicans in Texas, not because they support the Democrats, but because the party they had supported turned on them. It was political malpractice by the GOP.

The GOP won everything in South Carolina comfortably except the Senate race. Nobody has ever been worse at picking winning candidates than Donald Trump

What’s strange is that there are millions of young white men waiting in the wings for a signal, we desperately need a figure to unite behind and drive out the horde.

maybe you should have ran somebody who wasn't literally impeached by his own party for taking bribes

If the polls were wrong, it’s because they understated the carnage awaiting Republicans on Tuesday. As one GOP strategist put it, “It’s worse than anyone thought.”
Democrats aren’t just set to control the House and Senate, they’re set to do so with significant margins.
They prevailed in ruby red states like South Carolina, Kansas, and Texas, where James Talarico, a baby-faced avatar of insufferable wokeness who can name his favorite drag queen in less time than it takes most men to remember their own birthdays, was elected to the Senate.
By the time all votes are counted, they could control as many as 56 seats in the upper chamber. “To put the results in historical context, the GOP’s midterm performance was roughly as calamitous as that of the Arab armies in the Six-Day War,” @AndrewStilesUSA writes.
the GOP has a 6-3 majority on the Supreme Court, a GOP President, and a Dem Congress which does not have a veto proof majority
The revealed preference of the American Swing Voter has always been for divided government, and that's what we have going forward for the next 2 years
The US has no idea the world of hurt that it has ushered. It is truly soul-crushing to see some of the outcomes. My reaction is not based on partisan politics but rather a deep love and reverence for the US. Regrettably, American Exceptionalism is increasingly disappearing. I will continue fighting in the battle of ideas but I fear that this might be a fatal inflection point. May the America of the Founding Fathers eventually prevail.
Already seeing some of the younger, foolish, operatives in the Democratic party taking all the seats they won in the House for granted going forward and like
I remember how the Republicans acted in 2010
