The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade, has declared himself the number one king in Yorubaland, insisting that historical records support his position.
The monarch made the statement during an appearance on the State Affairs Podcast yesterday, where he was asked about his position among traditional rulers in Yorubaland.
Speaking during the interview, Oba Owoade said, “I am the supreme king in Yoruba land and the number one king in Yoruba land.”
He further stated, “Well historically I am, Alaafin is number one.”
When asked directly whether he considered himself the number one king in Yorubaland, the monarch maintained his position, responding:
“Historically just I have said to you, I am very confident about that, I am the number one.”

Going to Airport from city gate is totally blocked and there’s terrible traffic along Airport junction down to Idu junction and airport exit. The same traffic is also building up from wonderland exit down to Zone 4 bridge via the service lane.
