Congratulations to Safewards, our first #NIHRImpactPrizes established investigator winner 🏆 for their research showing the efficacy of Safewards, a package of interventions increasing the safety of mental health wards for patients & staff. The award was collected by Professor Alan Simpson.

Very disappointed in @UPS_UK we were expecting hundreds of items for staff & volunteers from @MaudsleyNHS and @maudsleycharity to wrap presents for people who will be in wards at Christmas. Assurances all day yesterday they would arrive on time - no sign of them
I’m so grateful for the opportunity I’ve had to be part of Maudsley Charity for the last (almost) nine years. Very excited to join the mental health network at @NHSConfed in January
📢Maudsley Charity’s chief executive, @becgray2 will leave the Charity in December after almost nine years to take up a new role as Director of @NHSConfed Mental Health Network.

Mental health in later life is overlooked and poorly supported because of systemic ageism across health and care, and society as a whole. We can change this with action both nationally and locally to ensure equitable support is offered at all ages centreformentalhealth.org.uk…
