"There are dozens of screenwriting books out there, but you will not find another written with such insight, wisdom, and (dare I say?) love for storytelling and storytellers. Highly recommended!"--Michael Colleary (Face/Off) tinyurl.com/4ewysjyw #screenwriting

I know this may be blanket and random, but I have a few scripts to which I'm attached as producer and/or that I'm simply shopping, in a variety of genres & budgets (many of them on lower end)
Any filmmakers or producers looking for quality material feel free to step into my DMs

Popping my head up to say I'm very badly in need of incoming work/new clients at the moment. If you're looking for notes/feedback on your work, please DM me or respond below so I can follow you/share my current rates. Many thanks

The “busywork” of WRITING A SCRIPT??
[flips table, goes back to reading scripts from actual writers…considers flipping table again later]
The “AI in Hollywood” debate is exhausting. Scriptlaunch takes a smarter angle: don’t replace the writer—support them. #sponsored nofilmschool.com/scriptlaunc…

I thought about doing this without any jokes, something I've never done here in 23 years, to impress upon people how much different I feel this issue is from any I have ever covered.

Positive as this news is, it comes at an actual cost, much higher than yours truly was imagining re: finances
Thus I am very much in need of new clients/consults! If you're looking for feedback on your script please reach out. My rates are reasonable, my rep & passion strong

I don’t know why it’s so hard for people to have empathy for Michael B Jordan, Delroy Lindo, Hannah Beachler, and John Davidson. Each of them deserves it.

One AI thing I AM worried about and am genuinely curious how those who are much more excited about AI than I am feel:
In the MFA filmmaking class I teach at ArtCenter, decks used to be a total mixed bag. A few great, many very bad. That said, you could watch students get better at writing loglines and summaries and character descriptions as the semester went on.
Now it’s obvious 98% are written by ChatGPT. Same voice. Same structure. They're all, as the kids say, "mid".
ChatGPT is great for research and organization. But kids relying on it this early? I worry it’s going to make everyone dumber and dumber and dumber. How do you learn to write prose and find your voice and write original dialogue when all you do it ask a computer to do it for you? And this goes for all industries.
