Mississippi Senate: AP has Colom up 65, DDHQ up 1,864. Which is right? We checked county reports: AP is missing batches counties already released. Local figures match DDHQ in Warren, Clay and Lowndes, putting Colom's floor near +1,240 before affidavits. #MSSen #Mississippi

Per @BrandonPresley (unofficial, via a GOP source): Marion Co. had 227 affidavits, 118 accepted. Colom 67, Hyde-Smith 47, Pinkins 3. Marion went Hyde-Smith ~61-39 two-party; these went Colom ~59-41, about 20 pts bluer, like Lafayette. Net Colom +20, not yet in AP's count.
Here’s a great example of what’s happening in Mississippi that adds to @scott_colom’s lead. A friend who is a card-carrying Republican sent me this: 227 provisional total ballots ,118 got accepted final. They broke this way: 67 Colom, 47 Hyde Smith, 3 Ty Pinkins

Update: DDHQ has now added the small Alcorn batch AP took earlier (Hyde-Smith +31). DDHQ: Colom +1,852. AP: Colom +1,138, still missing Lauderdale's absentees. No Hinds or other affidavit results posted yet.

MS Senate update: Decision Desk HQ added about 248 votes from Bolivar County at 10:06 PM ET. Colom netted about 120 (roughly 75-25, a bit bluer than the county's 71%). DDHQ now has Colom +2,087. AP still has +1,813 and has not added it. Ballot type not stated.

Tippah is the 2nd county where we can see how affidavit ballots broke. Hyde-Smith won it 72-24, yet Colom won its affidavits 39-31, about 30 pts bluer than the county. Lafayette (county figures): 20 pts bluer. Only 71 of 147 accepted, so the votes are few, but the tilt fits.
Tippah County had 147 affidavit ballots. 71 were accepted. Colom won the affidavits 39-31 over Hyde Smith. This in a county CHS won 72-24%.

The Scott Colom campaign sent its own letter to Mississippi circuit clerks and election commissioners calling the NRSC's demand to preserve and separate affidavit ballots unlawful.
NEW: Today, legal counsel for the Scott Colom for Senate campaign issued a letter to all 82 Mississippi Counties, their Election Commissioners, and their Circuit Clerks to make clear the NRSC’s and Cindy Hyde-Smith’s demand to segregate affidavit ballots is unlawful. READ⬇️

I appreciate that you won’t deny the way voters voted, but this statement sounds like a precursor to an eventual lawsuit. There’s a reason we have so many affidavit ballots in the state and Mike and his colleagues are well aware. They just didn’t expect a close race.

Big developments in the Mississippi U.S. Senate race as Mississippi GOP Chairman Mike Hurst said there is an unusually high number of affidavit ballots in the race. After being asked if the number of affidavit ballots is normal for a Mississippi election, Hurst said: “To my knowledge, that is very abnormal in any race that we’ve seen in Mississippi’s history.” If Republicans can hold Mississippi, winning back control of the Senate in 2028 is much more doable. This news is very important.

This is interesting that the affidavits are bluer than the in person ballots. But I was watching the news last night and they said Stacy Abram’s team prepared for this because they knew voters were being inactivated from the voter-rolls.

DEMOCRATS WIN SENATE POPULAR VOTE ACROSS FORMER CONFEDERATE STATES Democrats won the combined Senate popular vote across ten former Confederate states, securing 20,782,908 votes (53.74%) to Republicans' 17,888,197 (46.26%)—a margin of nearly 2.9 million votes. The result is a major victory for Democrats in a region Republicans have dominated for decades. High Black voter turnout helped fuel the result, carrying particular historical significance in states where Black Americans were once denied the right to vote. Democrats broke decades-long losing streaks in Texas and South Carolina. James Talarico became the first Democrat elected to the U.S. Senate from Texas since Lloyd Bentsen in 1988, while Annie Andrews delivered South Carolina's first Democratic Senate victory since 1998.

VoteHub is still tracking every update in the uncalled races. So far, no race has caught our eye as very likely to flip. Key drops are expected tonight in AZ-02, CA-23 and WA-05, all potential Republican-to-Democratic flips. We’ll share updates if any become more competitive.

Anyone who's waiting for MS-Sen, very valuable piece of info here!
Mississippi Senate: the first hard signal on affidavit ballots in two days. Lafayette County broke out its count by ballot type. Its 207 affidavits went Colom 142, Hyde-Smith 60, Pinkins 5. That exactly matches the batch AP added at 4:38 PM ET, so that batch was affidavits.

Spoiler Alert: Mississippi has been disenfranchising BLACK voters for years in every way possible so if the outstanding ballots are from Affidavits, 9 times out of 10 they were given to BLACK voters who voted overwhelmingly for Colom. She should have conceded election night.
