If we were brave enough to bring American dynamism back to Minnesota, we could build a great neighborhood at Les Bolstad near the university that would preserve green space, build 300 housing units 10 minutes from Minneapolis and Rosedale, and give 800 people a place to live.

Our mistake is expecting incumbent utilities to solve transmission problems just because they own transmission lines. WRONG. Utilities are not transmission problem solvers, *they are the problem*.

The "Great Escape" of US & developed countries from their responsibility for climate action, including providing climate finance to the Global South, continues to be the primary obstacle to global climate cooperation. @1TeresaAnderson has the update from Bonn #UNFCCC #SB58👇
We are mid-way through week 2 of #SB58 climate talks in Bonn, which- fun fact - have not *officially* started.
You read that right.
Governments have been here negotiating for 8 days. But because the Agenda has not yet been agreed, in UN logic, SB58 hasn't *actually* begun.

So if developing countries are going to ⬇️ fossil fuels or ⬆️ renewables, they want $$$
This point was made by Bolivia 🇧🇴 for the LMDCs (group of emerging economies inc. big fossil fuel producers) who submitted a request saying:
If mitigation is in, we need an item on finance.
Beth Mercer-Taylor retweeted
The fight is over the inclusion of the "mitigation work programme" in the agenda, which is about scaling up emissions cuts to hit climate targets.
Some developing countries object to setting targets when rich developed countries have failed to provide the cash to back them up.

And more evidence pointing to why a simulation-based approach with En-ROADS works: our beliefs are driven by what we do - and esp what we do with other people. Simulated collective efficacy supports real-world collective action. @climateinteract @MITSloanSusty @SustainableUML 2/2

This huge win means cheaper power, more jobs, and doing our part on climate change. Next stop, Senate floor!
