Big Cloud Productions is returning. After pausing in 2022 to complete a PhD in audio research at LJMU, I’ll graduate on 21 July 2026. A new website, expanded production services and online audio courses are coming soon. Great to be back. — Steve

I’m just finishing up a solo album. In this age of AI-generated music, I think those of us who are able should aim to keep making flawed, human music for as long as we can.
Years ago, using a MIDI drum kit to trigger samples, a Kemper to produce amp tones, or even a MIDI keyboard to trigger a piano would have been considered sacrilegious.
These days, picking up an instrument and pointing a microphone at it makes you feel like Michelangelo on the scaffold.
Anyway, the recording is done. I’ll have a rest, then mix and master what’s there before releasing it upon an unsuspecting world, which will undoubtedly stop squabbling just long enough to find shared joy in my artistic brilliance.
Alternatively, my 20 monthly listeners on Spotify will have all the fun to themselves. – at Garston, England
Lots of exciting projects in the pipeline already. New audio equipment to review and new artists to record. Still working on the new website, all coming along nicely. Steve.

This Friday, 17th April, Telford's Warehouse. The Skin Imps return.
We have been very busy, in distant lands fighting Skeletor and his forces of evil, but we return, triumphant to administer your treatment.
Plenty to look forward to in the Skin Imps World. See you on Friday.

Thank you to everyone who came to the album launch in @Telfords on Friday. A lovely time was had by all. "Special-big" thank you to all who purchased an album. We appreciate it. Especially as it seems owning a CD player is now like owning a 19th Century Mangle.

Hello everyone, I have an update about the future of @Big_Cloud_Pro. As you may know, I got some great news about winning a LJMU VC PhD Scholarship a couple of months ago. Today, I finally received my unconditional offer for a Full-Time PhD in audio at FET at @LJMU.
So, (1/5)
Maybe it will return at some point in the future, but for now, I will not be able to take on any new studio bookings.
To all my previous clients, thank you so much for hiring me. It was a real pleasure working with you. (4/5)
Please keep making great music. Onwards! #studiolife #phdlife #ljmu #liverpoolmusic #audioengineer (5/5)
