It's pretty amazing how some people agree with the basic right wing evangelical line that society should be so intensely sex segregated that women should not have friendships with men but do not understand that this belief is deeply conservative and anti-feminist.

Many people who earnestly believe this understand it comes from a place of intense conservatism and right wing religiosity! But I've seen it a lot recently dressed up as feminist (from straight women, like we're not talking lesbian separatists!) and that's just really something.

People who hate trans people seem to think about trans people a lot more than anyone else.

If you were assigned into the category of "woman" and "female" through a consequence of your birth and then transition your gender and sex away from those categories, it is reasonable to question why one clings so desperately to the sexual identity that means "women loving women"

Okay cool! One big takeaway: changing your sex is real and it works—now apply that to your arguments.

Transitioning your sex in one way or another is the greatest violation of the gender binary there is, and nonbinary transsexuals are all over the place. Sticking with the hormones your mom gave you will never be more binary than seizing the means of production of your own body!
Male and female are binary sexes, and not real things. They refer to your sexual identity, not your gender identity. If you desire to change your sex, you are transgender. If you desire to be percieved atypically, you are non-binary. They/them is not the only nonbinary identity

Now that I have spent over a decade changing my sex to a place that causes me no psychic distress because it's fully aligned with my gender, I feel infinitely more able to treat gender with a sense of play instead of with urgency to basically function! Funny how that works.

I think a lot of people in trans spaces use statistics about straight black and brown sex workers in north and south America as a social currency for themselves, despite the fact they are none of those things. It's very 'validty culture' tbh

I spent most of my life with debilitating dysphoria and mostly rid myself of it through over a decade of medical transition, but still deal with common body dysmorphia stuff from living in the world as a woman. I cannot tell you how wildly different they are from one another!
this is a little silly. my fiancée understands the analogies between beauty standards for cis and trans women, but she also understands the disanalogies (the harsher punishment we receive & internalize) and (correctly) would feel very uncomfortable reproaching me for my desires.

Some people act as if dysphoria is just the trans dysmorphia and that’s just not true! I understand why cis women sometimes equivocate these experiences, but the reality is we deal with dysmorphia in the same way and dysphoria is a very different experience they don't have.

See how she connected it to shared values. See how she framed it in a way favorable to herself and trans people simultaneously. See how she didn't spend 10 minutes clearing her throat over sports
Trans voter to @AOC: Trans people in America feel like they've been abandoned by the Democratic Party, that we are a losing issue, that it's not worth defending us. What do you say to that? AOC:

Under Trump the Education Department's Office of Civil Rights is ignoring reports of sexual assault on campus so they can instead focus on transgender athletes. They are "protecting women and girls" while actively abiding reports of rape.

when you actually list it out it becomes really clear that most of the time Ebert was "wrong" about a great movie it's because he was really sensitive about the depiction of rape, which I can't really get huffy over.
Roger Ebert's zero stars review of The Devils rogerebert.com/reviews/the-d… Roger also gave zero stars to: Texas Chainsaw I Spit On Your Grave The Hitcher Police Academy Death Wish 2 Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me he gave 1 star to Blue Velvet & The Thing & half a star to Hellraiser

My friend @erinisaway says “real love is being willing to change your life” — it’s true! And it’s important to clock when you or someone you’re with is resistant to compromise

honest to god thinking trans women don’t deal with medical misogyny it’s over for you
Saying afab means specifying people who grew up facing misogyny as children, who were perceived as female and thus risked being child brides, raped by pedos for being a child with a vagina, misogynistic medical malpractice, misogynistic ableism, etc. Saying afab actually MATTERS.

I mean yes obviously I am not advocating for a law, this is just another way of saying TME people making claims about trans women's experience is often very annoying and usually pretty revealing of how they see us

man if a gay dude said "i love a city girl. i love them. i love a woman who..." nobody would question that he's just admiring that type of woman.

“i love a country boy. i love them. i love a man…” chappell roan talking about men in the PRESENT TENSE while branding herself as a lesbian is certainly an interesting choice. This woman might be bisexual or even straight but one thing for sure she's not a lesbian

really shows how stupid the whole anti-trans rhetoric is when you have one of the richest women in the world calling mostly poor LGBT people "elitist" for defending ourselves
J.K. Rowling has published a new essay defending her views on the trans community and calling out trans activism in the 21st century for being "elitist." "My views haven't changed... what to me represents no change at all in my political or ideological outlook has, in recent years, seen me and women like me subject not only to criticism but also to death threats. This is because we oppose the current, dominant strain of trans activism, which holds that a man who declares himself a woman is, literally, a woman, and is therefore entitled to be treated as a woman in all contexts..." variety.com/2026/tv/global/j…
