AI is already being utilized throughout major productions in pre, production and post. The final product usually has no tells because great filmmaking has always been about immersion and illusion.
Maybe it's not the limitations of the tech, but more so the story being told.
Some of your favorite films you've paid to see may have used AI in some part of the process.
Pretty soon the "how" fades away and we will judge purely on if the story moved you or not.
