Potemkin Party minions and war mongers seem unduly exhilarated by the purchase of 12 Su-35 jet fighters from Russia.
They believe, in the ominous words of their leaders, that this will indeed enhance the regime's capability for its "pre-emptive" war of aggression; oblivious to the legal and security quagmire that this will entail and the lessons from yesterday's history.
The Potemkin Party has indulged in a massive weapons purchase spree for a long time now as the link below demonstrates.
But massive re-armament will neither advance the PP's declared agenda of regional destabilization nor alleviate the dire sufferings of almost 70% of the Ethiopian population who live under abject poverty, classified as "multidimensionally poor" in accordance with standard economic metrics.
The country is also suffering from mushrooming internal chaos and spiraling strife - the upheaval in Moyale is the latest in the string of entrenched inter-communal conflicts - which stem from a dysfunctional governance architecture.
The Potemkin Party has got all its priorities wrong and, by all accounts, it will neither listen to the voices of reason nor retreat from the perilous path that it has chosen to tread.

Will the UNSC and the AU Rein in Ethiopian’s Expansionism and Aggression?
by Adulis Tewolde
*...Today, the Horn of Africa confronts another dangerous juncture. The current Ethiopian ruling party has explicitly framed 'sovereign access to the sea' as a 'strategic imperative', that must be 'ascertained through negotiations if possible and by force if necessary'. Ethiopia’s intensive and provocative pronouncements conducted for over three years now as well as associated acts are indeed tantamount to a declaration of war. And finally, on 9 October this month, Ethiopia formally notified the UN Security Council that it has declared war against Eritrea under the preposterous allegations of 'Eritrea’s invasion''.
*"...Both the UN and the AU are intergovernmental organizations designed to reflect the collective position of their member states. In this context, it is imperative that these institutions uphold, without any equivocation, the fundamental pillars of the UN Charter and the AU’s Constitutive Act on the full respect of sovereignty, territorial integrity and political independence of all Member States. Indeed, respect for these principles is sine qua non for peaceful relations between States".
*"...Eritrea has already paid a heavy price for the international community’s past failures. Its long struggle for independence and its insistence on the implementation of the EEBC decisions underscore the importance of defending sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the peaceful settlement of disputes".
*"The question now is whether the institutions established to safeguard international peace and security will fulfill their responsibilities. Will the Security Council, the African Union, and the wider international community rein in Ethiopia’s Prosperity Party expansionist ambitions and deter aggression? Or will the defense of the UN Charter’s most fundamental principles once again be left to Eritrea alone, with all the catastrophic costs that such a failure entails".

What a tragic affront to Kenya’s heroes for H. E. @WilliamsRuto to invite the Ethiopian “msaliti,” (traitor) @AbiyAhmedAli, to address the Kenyan people on #MashujaaDay, a day dedicated to honoring the courage and sacrifice of all Kenyan who fought against colonialism and are fighting neocolonialism today. To yesterday’s heroes like the Kapenguria Six, including Mzee Jomo Kenyatta, alongside Dedan Kimathi, Mekatilili wa Menza, Koitalel Arap Samoei, and Muindi Mbingu. Those who fought for freedom and sovereignty deserve a commemoration worthy of their legacy.

Reading from a teleprompter on Ethiopia's TV yesterday, the Potemkin Party's Prime Minister disparages Eritrea's economic development, and particularly its manufacturing sector, as "stagnant and in decline" since its independence in 1991.
The speech/interview was also laced with his three-year old threats of war of aggression and invasion unless Eritrea succumbs to his delusional projects of "sovereign access to the sea" and "Ethiopian naval presence" in Eritrea's coastal territory; packaged this time round in different pretexts, language, and format.
To revert to his disparaging discourse on Eritrea's economic performance and potential:
1. In the past 35 years, Ethiopia was the beneficiary of a whopping 80-90 billion US dollars of international multilateral and bilateral assistance;
2. Ethiopia went through two rounds of WB sponsored debt-cancellation rounds, as well as repetitive financial bailouts from the IMF and other donors. For almost ten years in -between, Ethiopia's dire humanitarian conditions were alleviated by the international community under a customized "social safety net" and other similar "intensive care" financial antidotes.
3. The current regime itself has received over 30 billion US dollars in international assistance in the last 8 years alone. In addition, its tattering economy is being resuscitated by another IMF bailout programme to the tune of 3.1 billion US dollars.
4. And yet, as the figures below illustrate, more than 68% Ethiopians are living under extreme poverty while close to 30 million people require urgent humanitarian relief assistance at this point in time.
5. In as far as the 300 manufacturing plants that the PP leader alludes to, these were old factories built during Italy's colonization of Eritrea from 1889 until 1941. The British Military Administration dismantled many of those factories - including the dock in Massawa - as "war booty" and sold them to other foreign countries. The occupationist Haile Selassie regime, in its turn, dismantled many of the remaining factories and transferred them to Ethiopia especially during the imposed "Federation" period.
6. After its hard-won independence in 1991, Eritrea registered rapid economic growth in the first seven years (WB reports). Imposed wars and unwarranted sanctions thereafter naturally affected the pace and magnitude of its economic trajectory.
7. These externalities have nothing to do with Eritrea's open investment and economic policies and visions.
8. And in any case, Eritrea has the abundant economic endowments (blue economy, extractive industry, educated and industrious human capital, and a civilized culture that celebrates religious and ethnic diversity within robust national unity) to excel and achieve its aspirations of rapid and sustainable growth in a conducive and enduring regional climate of peace and stability.
9. Finally, Ethiopia itself could do much better, extricate itself from debilitating dependency, and use its abundant resources for real development if its leaders abandon sectarian policies of division and polarization that incubate perennial cycles of internal turmoil as well as intertwined acts of regional destabilization in pursuit of delusional and expansionist projects.

Potemkin Party's toxic/stale chorus is grotesquely on display again.
In the link below, the official mouthpiece of the regime (Fana Broadcasting Corporation -Arabic) tries to package, in its news item today, the PP's declared war of aggression in fallacious "historical and strategic terms".
1. In the first place, Ethiopia cannot "reclaim ports and maritime route" that it never owned except during its illicit presence in the bogus "Federation" and annexation periods. Annexation and forceful occupation do not confer historical/legal title to the occupying entity. International law 101.
2. The Eritrean people had paid precious sacrifices when their right to decolonization was denied in the 1940s to satisfy overriding geopolitical interests of major powers. As a result, they had to undergo through Africa's longest liberation struggle to achieve their inalienable national rights and human dignity which should not have been denied in the first place.
3. In the event, to deny and denigrate Eritrea's independence constitutes yet another transgression and political blasphemy of the highest order.

Ethiopia has become the number one launch platform for RSF militia drones targeting facilities, cities and civilians in Sudan. Today, numerous drones attempted to strike the Setit Dam, Gedaref and Khashm el-Girba; yesterday, Bahri and Damazin were targeted.
Whenever the UAE-backed RSF militia suffers a crushing defeat, it turns to targeting civilians, public facilities and people's homes.

Wonder what the underlying reason is? Perhaps it can be explained by the Syndrome: "ሜስ'ሲ ንዘይፈልጦ የጥርጦ!"

Press Release
The Embassy of the State of Eritrea wishes to categorically reject the statement made by the UK Home Secretary on 14 October 2026 yesterday, alleging that Eritrea has “abruptly” withdrawn cooperation on “enforced and escorted return” of its nationals.
In this respect, the Embassy wishes to underline:
1. The Government of the State of Eritrea does not accept the forced return of its Citizens and has duly communicated this fact to British Government officials on various occasions.
2. Despite Eritrea’s repeated requests for constructive discussion with relevant UK authorities on the dignified return of its citizens, the UK has shown no interest to engage in meaningful and appropriate dialogue. Instead, it continues to insist on enforced repatriation, in direct contradiction of its own Country Guidance Policy on Eritrea.
3. The fundamental core issue behind this matter is the UK’s decision to politicize its asylum system and extend blanket asylum to anyone who claims to be Eritrean in a bid to undermine the Government of the State of Eritrea. Invariably, this policy of offering prima facia asylum has served as a pull factor to the UK for mostly underage Eritreans as well as non-Eritrean asylum seekers masquerading as Eritreans. This unwarranted action has immensely compounded the problem beyond normative proportions.
4. Due to unacceptable practices by UK authorities, such as failing to disclose that they were returning convicted criminals still serving prison terms and describing returnees as “voluntary” when clearly, they were not, the State of Eritrea was forced to suspend the practice of escorting Eritrean nationals who were supposedly ‘voluntarily’ returning to their homeland.
While the Home Secretary’s current decision to impose “corrective visa actions” is regrettable, the act is nothing more than a perfunctory political gimmick.
The fact is, the UK has not issued a single visa to an Eritrean official since 2023.

Ethiopian army’s laughable propaganda shows no sign of slowing down. Ethiopia, the most loyal customer of Iranian-made drones in the region, is now parading its own weapons as if they belonged to the enemy. YIHA-III drones shown to diplomats as “captured from the TPLF” actually belong to the Ethiopian army itself. Jointly produced by Türkiye and Pakistan, these drones were delivered directly from Pakistan to Ethiopia last year. Unfortunately for them, @FCB6O tracked that cargo flight step by step a year ago as it flew from Karachi to Harar Meda Air Base in Bishoftu.
The evidence is clear: the shipment went to the Ethiopian army, not to Tigray. While trying to fool diplomats, Addis Ababa got caught in its own lie.

#Eritrea: Ministry of Foreign Affairs Urges AU to Restore Eritrea’s Representation at its Headquarters
(Similar Letter Sent to UNECA)
*"... The decision of the Ethiopian Government - to expel Eritrea's Permanent Representative and the entire diplomatic staff assigned to participate in the AU - constitutes a grave violation of the Constitutive Act; and, the Headquarters Agreement between the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and the African Union...".
*"... In light of the foregoing, Eritrea urges the policy organs of the AU to take immediate corrective measures to restore Eritrea's rightful representation at the Headquarters of the Union to ensure its full participation in the activities of the Union as a sovereign and equal member, in strict adherence to the Constitutive Act; the Headquarters Agreement; and, the General Convention".
(The Letter also underlines that Ethiopia had in fact closed, without any formal announcement, its Embassy in Eritrea much earlier on 8 August 2026).

The body of evidence of Abiy threatening to take #Assab, #Eritrea by force is innumerable, but what he says internally and to the international community is different in language.
The following is just one example of him asking #US, #China, #Russia, #Europe, #Africa, to act as intermediary and resolve the issue. He goes on to say ....If they refuse to take us seriously & continue to waste time, they should not expect us to sit idly,I don't think so’
The following is a verbatim translation of his speech in his parliament..
‘It is possible to resolve it legally and negotiation! I have spoken to many countries bilaterally. If the council wants to know the identity of these countries…
I have spoken to #America, #China, #Russia, #Europe, #Africa… and I want to say before the Honourary Council that Ethiopia’s access to the sea is beyond question.
Because I prioritise peace and negotiation before anything, I have politely asked them to act as intermediaries and help resolve the issue.
This is our question! If they refuse to take us seriously & continue to waste time, they should not expect us to sit idly,I don't think so’

#ERITREA #Ethiopia #HOA #RedSeaTensions
As the #UNSC meets today to discuss the escalating conflict in #Ethiopia and rising tensions with #Eritrea, it must make one thing absolutely clear: territorial expansion by force is illegal, unacceptable and must have consequences.
Ethiopia’s flimsy allegations of Eritrean incursions cannot justify seizing Eritrean territory. Addis Ababa has yet to present evidence to substantiate its accusations.
Nor can these allegations be viewed in isolation. For three years, Addis Ababa has used increasingly aggressive rhetoric about acquiring sovereign access to the Red Sea. More recently, Ethiopian military leaders described the war in Tigray as merely a “stopover” on the way to Assab. Yesterday, Ethiopia’s Air Force chief declared: “The day is approaching when Ethiopia will assert its sovereignty and reopen its maritime gateway.”
Even if Ethiopia’s allegations are proven, self-defence is not a licence for territorial conquest.
The Ethiopia–Eritrea border is not up for grabs. It was settled through binding international arbitration. Under the 2000 Algiers Agreement, both countries accepted the decisions of the Eritrea–Ethiopia Boundary Commission (EEBC) as final and binding. The boundary was delimited in 2002 and demarcated in 2007. The Security Council repeatedly reaffirmed these decisions. The UN spent $1.32 billion on UNMEE to monitor the ceasefire and maintain a buffer zone during the boundary process.
The Council must now do three things: reaffirm the final and binding EEBC decisions; demand that both countries respect the established border and refrain from the threat or use of force, as required by Article 2(4) of the UN Charter; and make clear that any attempt to change the border by force will prompt consideration of targeted sanctions and other measures.
The Security Council is often criticised for acting only after wars have begun. Here is a war it still has a chance to prevent. It must defend both the Charter and the border settlement it helped secure.

In his address to the House of Peoples Representatives on 28 October 2025, the PP's leader proclaimed: "We did not start building our Navy five years ago (in 2020) to make it float in a small pool of water".
Inflammatory declaration of war in what they have termed as "projection of naval power with jurisdiction in Eritrea's southern coastal zone".
This wicked war agenda was conceived against the backdrop, and in the immediate aftermath, of the 2018 historic Agreement of Peace and Friendship between the two countries..
Smoking gun that illustrates, beyond any shred of doubt, that the war agenda was long planned by the Potemkin Party whose hallmark remains trite Machiavellian and backstabbing political traits.

Good News: I have just been informed that General Tadesse Worede and the other officers have been freed. They are now in the hands of ENDF/TPF forces and are reportedly safe.
It is worth recalling that these officers were arrested by the TPLF and later transferred out of Mekelle toward the northern frontier, raising fears that they might be handed over to the Eritrean regime.
