Very different circumstances I know but now the cuts to Welfare payments of the long term sick & disabled are kicking in, we will be seeing stories like this a lot more. As people lose their ability to cover rent short falls & evictions start kicking in, more will face eviction.

Important context they never give you: some of those scary historical “high benefit” figures included people with profound disabilities needing round-the-clock support through the Independent Living Fund. That’s not fraud. That’s survival.

I saw a screenshot of earlier today who reckons that people on benefits shouldn't be allowed to go to pubs and other recreational places (I wish I had taken a screenshot myself now. A few years ago, she also thought that disabled people could just "start a business from Home" as if it's as simple as clicking your fingers together (which ironically enough I can't do)
