I see @AngelStudiosInc thinking differently and serving its core market while providing a home for independent filmmakers.
some good points here. But I also think what has changed is the streaming companies dominate the secondary market ( tv ) and are not buying indie films which has engendered fear in every distributor. We need new distribution companies with fresh strategies. The audience is out there

We are awakening. @nicknorwitz is a shining light on a hill for those with chronic disease. It takes a shift, but remember, your body is an amazing healing machine when supported correctly.
Amazing story from an obviously brilliant and gifted man who chose to change his entire future career path because he realized traditional medicine doesn’t always have all the answers. Well worth the 10 minute watch. I share a similar story after hating the way ā€˜traditional’ medicine actually practiced in real life, just 2 years after graduating from fellowship. I spent 12 years training in medicine and only lasted 2 years in ā€˜traditional’ medicine. Think about that. I was miserable and needed a change. So I removed insurance from the equation - which is often the limiting factor to success. In my opinion, traditional (American) medicine is not able to fix all of the diseases, I think by now that’s pretty obvious. Any treatments not supported by strong double-blinded research studies are viewed as taboo. And that’s a shame. At the end of the day, ā€˜N of 1’ studies are powerful. That’s exactly what Nick realized in his battle with ulcerative colitis and IBD. Stay curious. Don’t be afraid to challenge the norm if you’re not getting the results you are looking for. That’s the type of medicine I practice and I’m proud of that.

In 2013, we launched the transactional video on demand platform for ChristianCinema.com. We knew subscription (SVOD) would decimate the industry without prioritizing theatrical runs. This is vindicating.
Netflix is evolving right before our eyes. Mass layoffs, including top executives. Yes, a company obsessed with algorithms, data and AI is downsizing, while suddenly and without warning, reporting theatrical box office numbers. This is a larger tell than you think. Perhaps Netflix is discovering something Hollywood has known for a century… technology can predict behavior, but it can’t manufacture cultural relevance. That’s theatrical. Always has been. And they’re finally acknowledging that. Ironic because Netflix spent two decades convincing Hollywood that the theatrical model was becoming obsolete… and now it’s experimenting with the very system it helped undermine.

Personal agents are making screens less useful for work. I love watching movies on big screens (Dolby, IMAX) at the theater. Our family watches TV series together on a large screen at home. But I am finding less use for smaller screens in day to day work. My agents handle it. In many ways, Ai is helping me become more human, more present for the people who matter most. Companies that understand this will lead the frontier.

My @bot went through my X bookmarks, pulled the talks I'd forgotten about, and turned them into a podcast feed in Apple Podcasts. Bookmarks finally became listening on my morning walks. šŸŽ§

If a person is a poor manager of people, they will be a poor manager of Ai agents. This is why most middle management is toast.
SpaceXAI engineer, Lauren Tan: ā€œ250 applications, two years, zero offers. Then he stopped applying as one engineer and showed up as a manager of digital colleagues. We offered him $9000,000. I wanted my agents to fix bugs for me while I sleep. Now they do. Every time GrokBot gets feedback, my agents triage the issue, write the fix, launch Cloud Agents and come back with a PR - video and screenshots attached. GrokBot is now helping build GrokBot itself. I’m almost like a manager for my digital colleagues. That’s not a skill gap. That’s a stack gap, and it takes one evening to close.ā€ Feedback → Triage → Fix → Cloud Agents → PR with video & screenshots This 24-minute talk shows what happens when agents stop being tools and start becoming the engineering team. Research → Build → Launch → Improve Worth more than most $500 agentic engineering courses. Bookmark it. Watch today.

It will be taught in cinema classes forever how this film starring Tom Cruise spent $250 million and grossed $8 million opening weekend. There are so many lessons to be learned around Digger.
I saw this last night. I only saw the trailer. I’m so glad I went in not knowing much. It’s AWESOME. I understand why this film is so divisive. The film is calling out BOTH SIDES. Either side can’t take the criticism, emotions take over, thus bad reviews. For an independent like myself, it’s beyond refreshing to see a movie literally praise each side and relay the sentiment of ā€œthe show must go onā€. The core message of this incredible film can’t be received by its intended audience because they’re too busy drinking the KoolAid from their respective MSM outlets. For the rest of us, not emotionally driven by a worldview dictated to us, this film is for us. I loved every second of it. Highly recommend it. And see it in IMAX.

Humanity is at an inflection point. About every 20 years. Previous points were public access to the Internet (1994), release of the iPhone (2007). Now, agentic super intelligence. The creative community is so opposed to it that they are missing the boat. @BenAffleck is a breath of fresh air.
Ben Affleck casually explaining neural networks in a GQ interview is the most encouraging thing I've seen from a Hollywood star on AI in a while. He learned it because he wanted to make better movies. The actors and directors who actually learn these tools are going to be more valuable than ever.

Net positive for all companies.
Warner Bros and Paramount have officially merged. DC Studios, Nickelodeon, Cartoon Network, CNN, CBS, HBO and Paramount+ are now all under the same company.

Digger masterfully makes family the hero. Nothing else matters.
Digger. What a movie. It’s so thick and nuanced it’s really hard to process. Technically it’s a masterpiece of design, execution, and acting. The story, well, how the story hits you depends on where you’re sitting. Some people say it’s a climate change anti American anti Christian woke hit piece. Frankly I didn’t see that at all. In fact the villain in the movie becomes the people, and not so subtlety, the leaders of the EU. The movie as a whole makes fun of people seeking atonement and catharsis through art, channeling the rage for others into a group event, cheering suicide and death, when they the people are ultimately the cause of the calamity through their insatiable demands for energy. The only call to action I found in the movie was that family is the most important thing in the world and everything can wait for family. In fact the movie demands we all wait for one man to check in on his daughter and we all do. Every modern character and institution gets made fun of … except for family. The movie is complex. It requires understanding there are multiple audiences. It requires not taking yourself too seriously. And it requires you to go in wanting to have FUN. The people who are disappointed are the ones who wanted the movie to be a giant virtue signal and it ain’t. I thought it was 10/10. Can’t stop thinking about it. The SCENE with Tom cruise delivering his main speech is an all time great scene in film. PS John Goodman steals the show.

Watched it tonight in IMAX. Empty theater. It was genius. I understand why people are not going to this movie. I plan to see it again tomorrow night. Cruise is incredible.
It turns out DIGGER is a work of pure cinematic genius. Strongly recommend, 4+ stars. Don’t read anything about it or pay attention to anything anyone says, just go.

Everything in this life is just an experience. You come into this life with nothing. You leave with nothing. Our experiences make it interesting. Imagine a movie where the characters have no experiences. It doesn’t exist.
