This. And I’d add that we should start to practice the art of being able to disagree. Agreement and disagreement can be separate from morality and should not be treated as the same thing. With the way the world currently works, we do not have the same information or the same starting point. We certainly very rarely get a full picture. Slow down and don’t leap to judgement.
Everyone: please resist tribalism. Accept that some people you admire sometimes do or support things that are utterly wrong. And people you loathe sometimes do or support things that are absolutely right. As for what is right and what is wrong: form your own opinion but I suggest it’s best to resist expressing it until you’re sure of the facts. The current polarization is deeply damaging.

A $5 billion company has operated for 65 years with ZERO managers. Employees hire their own colleagues, rank each other for compensation, and choose their own projects. This company has never had a loss-making year since 1958. Thread

A new chapter! 5 years after Doughnut Economics came out, I've added an action-packed Afterword on what we're learning about turning new economics into action. And in the spirit of the commons, it's free in the commons. Read, share, inspire, let's go. doughnuteconomics.org/news/5…

Whenever someone says that communication and relationships are easy, I show them this. It's a practice, a craft, art. And thinking we have "solved it" with any method or theory is probably a false assumption.

Here in The Netherlands, our energy bill has gone up from €75 to €95 pm which isn't too bad. We also get money back on energy we don't use. Curious how this compares with your bills in the UK.

My friend and amazing human @jonjalex new book 'Citizens' is now out in the wild. Go find it. If there's anything certain in these uncertain times, it's that the future must be co-created by all of us. The consumer story is ready for composting. Let's scale the citizen.

Every town and parish should be supported to train a team of volunteers to provide frontline energy advice, referrals to support schemes and coordination of community energy projects.
