Some people may want to exercise caution when selling/leasing sub domains and the like. Those seem like easy vectors for others to cause problems.
Telegram’s t.me links stopped working worldwide for several hours after the domain was removed from DNS, causing users to see errors when trying to open them
The Telegram app itself continued to work normally, but every t.me link was affected.
According to DomainME, which manages the .me domain, the issue occurred because the domain was temporarily placed on hold due to OFAC compliance.
OFAC (Office of Foreign Assets Control) is a division of the U.S. Department of the Treasury that enforces U.S. economic and trade sanctions.
Once resolved, the t.me domain was restored and links started working again.
The outage has now been fixed, and t.me links are working normally.
In an effort to improve loading speed and help mitigate code scanner and sync issues

I just had to deal with gen.xyz, the backend operator for the .xyz @xyz registry, to remove blocks on several domains.
It is very easy to report an .xyz for abuse. If you don't have an account at gen.xyz, you may miss those notifications. I missed the ones they sent me.
However, they have a simple process to unblock domains. I opened a ticket and got a response AND a resolution the next business day.
It has been a pleasure to experience a high level of support from gen.xyz. I appreciate that! 🫡
This was not a DNS issue, it was a malicious competitor attempting to foul a deal by reporting abuse during negotiations.
