The surprise of the year. The Great Dunes course at Jeykll Island was an absolute blast. The Walter Travis holes by the ocean get all the praise, deservedly so, but the inland holes were equally as fun.

Short courses are hot right now and this is a good one. I took a 50 degree and a putter and had a blast. Very rugged feel due to the rocks and big, heavily undulating greens. An excellent companion to Park Mammoth

Originally designed by Walter Travis, Great Dunes was Travis’ final design, as he passed away before the course officially opened in 1928.
Now fully-restored by Brian Ross (Ross Golf Design) and Jeffrey Stein (Stein Golf Design), the project also included the creation of nine new Travis-inspired holes on a portion of the former Oleander Course to complete the new 18-hole Great Dunes Course.

A much needed day away to one of my favorite places. Park Mammoth is as green as I've ever seen it, and the Little Mammoth course gets better every time I play it. A banner day all around.

Played Great Dunes at Jekyll Island yesterday. @brianrossgolf and Jeff Stein did a great job filling this site with fun golf.
It’s easy to see why the Oceanside holes get a lot of attention, but the inland holes also have a lot of playing interest.
$135 on the weekend for fun golf on the Atlantic Ocean. Tough to beat!
