Why do I write constantly about Robert Dabney, a late 19th century enslaver? Because his ideas, thoughts, style, philosophy and doctrine have washed over American evangelicalism.
Neo-confederate ideology.
Come see how.

This says everything about the Trump presidency. Trump's doctors keep giving him tests for dementia because they are worried he's suffering from it. The jerk thinks it's an intelligence test and keeps bragging about how well he did.

If the evidence bears out that Starshield was deliberately slowed down, whoever did it, whether Elon, Trmp, or both, they must be investigated and charged for complicity in Russian war crimes.

Will our institutions hold?
I hope so.

What exactly are people like Kirill Dimitriev, Bibi, Netanyahu, Elon Musk, Marc Andreessen or MBS going to do if and when Trump is replaced by Dems who go after any of his allies they view as existential threats to US democracy?
Sometimes it's better to hedge your bets.

A fascinating strategic dynamic at play now is how far Putin, Gulf States and tech oligarchs doubled down on a calculus that Trump is eternal god emperor of the US when it looks more like America is about to be defined by an era of chaotic internal conflict as Trump's power ebbs

What we’re seeing in so many arenas—business, tech, church, politics, and beyond—is skill, competence, insight, charisma, and rhetoric dramatically outpacing character.
The cost of leaving moral formation and ethical discernment behind is incalculable.

The WSJ editorial board states outright: “…there needs to be a bipartisan reckoning for Mr. Trump’s budding alliance with the Kremlin against Ukraine, Europe and American interests.”

1. Putin seems to have increasing control over Starlink in part because of blackmail threats to destroy it — both on the ground and in space.
2. The simplest answer to what Trump may do in lieu of, or in response to, the election is to fully suspend the constitution.

PS I’ve met Putin many times and listened in on calls with him as well. I also speak Russian. Yes he is soft spoken, deliberate, and measured. So what? He’s still a killer. He still launched a barbaric invasion of Ukraine, that has produced tragic loss of life not seen on this scale in Europe since WWII.
Vance: "I've never met Putin in person. I've spoken to him on the phone. He was calmer than you might expect. The American media has a stereotype of him. He's very deliberate and measured in his words.
I think, at his core, he's someone who cares about Russia's interests as he sees them. One reason he respects the President is that he recognizes the President cares about the interests of the American people."

If we Christians in America need Christianity to be the dominant religion, our faith isn’t in Jesus, it’s in ordinary human power.
This is correct, which again suggests they don’t care about winning any longer, and intend to simply steamroll over the outcome. It was much better when they thought it would be close.

There are only three options:
1. Putin has bribed Trump and enough senior officials in the White House so as to exert almost total control over the administration.
2. Putin has enough kompromat on Trump and on enough senior officials so as to exert almost total control over the administration.
3. Trump and enough senior officials are sufficiently ideologically aligned with Putin so neither bribes nor kompromat are necessary to exert almost total control over the administration.

IMPORTANT!
It's truly remarkable that @Mike_Pence, former Vice President under Trump 2016-2020, tweeted this today.
It tells you and the world how much danger America is in two weeks before mid-terms.
