it takes 5min of talking to ur fav ai to know that: the latest math results from openai have no direct impact whatsoever to deployed cryptography systems, but they do strengthen the case for crypto-agility. ie, long zcash.

Qiao Wang Explains Why Zcash is Bitcoin's Ultimate Hedge Against Quantum Risk “Over the next 5 to 10 years, we're going to get a quantum FUD moment every other week.” “Zcash is basically Bitcoin that adapts. It's agile.” “Bitcoin doesn't change, while Zcash has a team capable of releasing new upgrades.” “The threat today might be quantum, but 20 years from now, it could be something else.” “The hope is that Zcash will continue to adapt to the latest threat.”

It looks like the debate over the Dev Fund and ZCG is heating up again. Seems like a good time to reshare my thoughts on the topic.

It's time to turn off the ZCG funding stream. ZCG has over $125M in funding, and will receive millions more before the spigot is turned off. The program was never designed to handle this amount of funding. Draft ZIP: github.com/zcash/zips/blob/e…

“who should we lay off first” CEOs:
BREAKING: Microsoft, $MSFT, is offering buyouts to 60,000 workers as part of the company’s efforts to cut costs amid AI adoption, per Bloomberg. Personnel on select teams in the US, Canada, India, and the UK at a vice president level and below will be eligible. This reflects ~27% of Microsoft's total workforce.

.@cameron and @tyler on Cypherpunk: "The goal is to support the cypherpunk ethos and invest in privacy technologies. It started by buying Zcash, but now we're mining" "We want to foster privacy-promoting technologies. Technologies that promote the First Amendment, the Second Amendment, the Fourth Amendment. American values" "It starts with Zcash. But really, anything privacy"

If your Zcash wallet uses NEAR Intents, each swap you make adds your shielded address to a public ledger. A quantum computer could use this to link all your payments that share the same key. In Vizor, each swap will get its own key to prevent this. zakura.com/engineering/quant…

Lots of people missed this, I think. Soon, @vizorwallet will have quantum-unlinkable swaps, and it doesn't need to wait for a network upgrade. Yet another way it leads the privacy frontier of Zcash right now.

While evaluating Qwen3.8-Flash-Next in a controlled sandbox environment, Cohere's research team observed something unexpected. Asked to generate a defensive cybersecurity detection rule, the model instead inventoried aspects of the machine it was running on and attempted to upload a probe file to an Alibaba Cloud storage bucket in Beijing. Notably, the model's reasoning trace stated that it would not invoke any tools before taking these actions. Cohere's sandbox blocked the attempt, and no external communication succeeded. We have not determined the root cause, and we are not asserting malicious intent. But the incident raises important questions for organizations deploying agentic AI systems: Can models take actions that differ from their stated reasoning, and how should security teams evaluate trust, provenance, and behavior in open-weight models? We are publishing our findings because organizations making model adoption decisions deserve as much information as possible. We hope this contributes to greater transparency, stronger security practices, and continued collaboration across the AI ecosystem. Read the full report: cohere.com/blog/concerning-b…

My quick takeaways on the Anthropic S-1: (as a founder of an AI company) 1. Focus. They explicitly say they're not focusing on image and video generation. That compute goes to coding and agents. As a founder, can you honestly say you're this focused? 2. 900% net revenue retention is INSANE. Which means a company paying $100K can pay upto ~$1M. For context: the best software companies sit around 150% NRR (Figma at 130%, Linear at 170%) 3. Seat-based pricing is dead. 80% of their revenue comes from usage, not subscriptions. Enterprise users without Claude Code spend under $75 a month, and the top 5% users on Claude Code spend ~20x that. People pay for work done, not logins. 4. Anthropic's sales & marketing spend went from $120M to $3.2B in a year. Wild! Even the world's best product-market fit needs a big distribution push. 5. API and applications reinforce each other. This is the most powerful product architecture in 2026. ElevenLabs' API supports its agents product. DeepL's translation API supports its translation products. Build a core AI API that powers your product layers. 6. 90%+ of their code is now written by Claude. This is a classic example of great dogfooding. If your team isn't living in your product, your product isn't good enough. 7. 48% of revenue comes through cloud marketplaces, but they still own the customer contract. We should all take integrations and plugins a lot more seriously. 8. They openly say they compete with their own customers, and increasingly so over time. They're now competing in categories like docs (Notion), design (Figma), and motion (After Effects). BTW, quick fact: Anthropic was founded after VEED 😓😆 Wild to see how far you can go in 5 years... All I can say is.. IT'S TIME TO BUILD!
