I met with Norwegian Minister of Defense Tore O. Sandvik, Kongsberg President and CEO Eirik Lie, and representatives of the company, which manufactures NASAMS air defense systems. These systems effectively protect our people and critical infrastructure from Russian missile and drone strikes virtually every day. We are counting on additional defense support packages next month. Norway is also actively involved in FREYJA, our European anti-ballistic program. We already have the first results in developing individual components of the system. Today, we identified where we can and must accelerate our work so that testing can begin by the end of this year. We also discussed in detail launching work on new satellite communication capabilities for our warriors. We will involve partners who have the capacity to provide support. Thank you, Norway!

Referrals to secondary care from GPs used to be treated as they were, requests for further support, investigations, and advice from one experienced colleague to another They have now, to the detriment of patients, been treated as merely optional This cannot continue
New Substack 🗒️ Dodging Blows Referral was meant to be a dance between two clinicians. These days it feels more like a boxing match, with the exhausted GP's guard up, protecting their already battered body . Who wins when everyone is fighting? davetriska.substack.com/p/do…

Oh dear, Krishnan Guru-Murthy asks about the receipts from oil and gas going into Labour's Energy Wealth Fund, Tessa Khan, "The OBR made a forecast before the price spikes caused by the Iran war that by 2030, the tax take from the North Sea oil and gas sector, will be £0.1 billion" "That's not enough to bring down people's energy bills" My view: Labour is talking up an Energy Wealth Fund financed by North Sea revenues, but the OBR’s pre-Iran-war forecast put oil and gas tax receipts at just £100 million in 2030–31. That’s the projected tax take for the whole year — nowhere near enough to make a meaningful dent in energy bills. So when ministers suggest North Sea revenues can help bring bills down, where’s the money actually coming from?

Elon Musk, Trump's largest financial backer, threatens US elected officials against launching investigations into Starlink/Ukraine sabotage, federal contracts, DOGE actions, and other potentially criminal issues. "Live by the sword, die by the sword," the billionaire said.
Elon Musk ordered restrictions on Ukraine’s military satellite communications, according to officials. The slowdown disrupted Ukrainian interceptor drones, Trump and Pentagon deny ordering it, while Ukrainian officials say restrictions remain in place.

So tomorrow, the first tanker carrying 40,000 metric tons of Russian diesel is set to depart for the US. Let’s do the math. 40,000 tons is roughly 300,000 barrels. The US consumes about 4 million barrels of diesel per day. That means this entire tanker covers less than two hours of American demand. At the same time, the US exports around 1.5 million barrels of diesel a day—meaning this shipment is equivalent to just 4.5 hours of US exports. The voyage from Ust-Luga to US terminals takes 2.5 to 3 weeks. By the time the tanker arrives, the US will have exported over 4 million tons of its own diesel—a hundred times more than what this single tanker is delivering. So, one of the world's largest diesel exporters is buying diesel from an aggressor state just to cover two hours of domestic consumption? - Presidential Commissioner for Sanctions Policy Vladyslav Vlasiuk.

A lot of people have asked what I mean by data acquisition in real-time. This is just one example. The living world is microscopic; we need to probe it using microscopy and microspectroscopy. What we do instead is dump drugs on a petri dish, then wait 24 hours, and then sequence cells, killing them in the process. In real human bodies, cells are dosed across time. You ingest a Tylenol. It makes it into the circuits of your human body - fluidic circuits - and blood circulates across the body once every eight minutes. So how do we ever capture that with sequencing and robots? We need to make vessels before we can take cells from a human being, have them manufactured, fabricated. The cells must be in the temperature they like inside the body. You cannot make them more uncomfortable than they want to be. You cannot stain them and expect to see what they feel like. You need to keep them alive, and probe them with lasers. They should not even have to KNOW they're being sensed. The sensing should be so silent that it is biocompatible. And believe it or not, this is extremely possible. Bioprinting, nanofabrication, photolithography, and, of course, laser biophotonics has made it possible. So we form two things: 1. Vessels 2. Sensors And we acquire from it: => As much data as possible. About how a drug changes a cell. In our systems, we are able to use photons instead of reagents to probe label-free. We can tell what goes it, what goes out, what the cells feel like, and how they change.

Bill Clinton: “I’m tired of the way we treat our allies like dirt. And just last week, President Trump finally did what he threatened to do when he first ran, which is to abandon Ukraine and embrace Vladimir Putin all over again.” I hope the American people are also tired of it

Right now they are looking at the fire, denying it exists and pouring more petrol on it, while their own citizens increasingly face searing heat, wildfires and other impacts.””

Of course, we are not losing this war. But we are losing people. Because of the Russian attacks, we're losing people and time. It's such a pity, because our children don't have a real life and childhood. Not only children, but all people. That's why we need to end this war as quickly as possible. I hope that our partners, Americans and Europeans, will help us. God bless, our strong soldiers stay strong on the battlefield. It helps me stay strong during any kind of negotiations.

@ProfessorPape has been sounding the alarm on this as well. xitter.cf/SINewsBriefing/status/…
Robert Pape (@ProfessorPape) says it hasn't happened yet, but he's concerned that ChatGPT, Claude or DeepSeek will empower a lone wolf assassin via “extremely good tactical programs that they can execute. And they're going to work through the defenses.” xitter.cf/MarioNawfal/status/211…

🚨New paper (possibly the most important one I have written yet). We think that as early as 2027 or 2028, there might be a major AI-enabled terrorism event. We conducted a pre-mortem, made 9 falsifiable predictions, and wrote 2 concrete scenarios. Led by @KamacheeMax.
