AWKWARD SILENCE: NYC DAs have no answers when pressed over a new report alleging they reduced charges to protect illegal immigrants from deportation.
The new 22-page House Judiciary Committee report alleges the city’s district attorneys used “immigration-safe” plea deals and instructed prosecutors to avoid certain convictions that could trigger deportation.
At a Manhattan press conference, a reporter presses three top New York officials about the practice. One DA shrugs before the event quickly moves on to other questions.
The report also details allegations about how prosecutors documented certain offenses.

Scott says El-Sayed wrote a letter in support of the Muslim Brotherhood, and that his own sister has talked about conversations they had growing up about supporting it.
The 2012 letter he signed backed Egypt's Brotherhood president Mohamed Morsi, and Fox reports it supported Morsi's call to purge the media and police.
When Bret Baier asked him about it? He cut him off and refused to go there.
El-Sayed denies ever being part of the Brotherhood.
But he still won't explain that letter.
