AI can summarize your meetings. Play it a music lesson and all it hears is noise.
We built the first AI notetaker fluent in both music and speech.
Tonic Notes goes live today.
What a waste of energy and resources. If an AI version of you can sit through a meeting, then you should just not attend it.

Check out this external researcher's analysis of public community notes data!
What other platform allows this level of transparency?
"Misinformation" is mentioned in JAMA Network journal more than 830 times. However, 0 of these articles offer empirical evidence about the effectiveness of countermeasures to address misinformation. Today we published #1. But why was it zero? Social media companies @facebook @tiktok_us @instagram refuse to disclose details and data involving their misinformation countermeasures. What information is targeted? Are these programs working? etc. go unknown. @CommunityNotes w/ @jaybaxter changed that. The novel approach empowers volunteer, independent, anonymous, and ideologically diverse contributors to identify posts containing misinformation and to rectify misinformation by appending informative "notes" to suspect posts. The process is controlled by the public, instead of decision-makers at the company and all information about the program is open-sourced. As a result we, an external team of scientists with no affiliation or relationship with @X could study the system evaluating the subjects, accuracy, and credibility of notes on #COVID19 vaccines. 2/

JAMA Research Letter: @CommunityNotes are 97.5% accurate when addressing COVID vaccine related topics.
All happens through an open, transparent process where the people (not a tech co) decide what context is helpful enough to add.
From an author of the letter: "The context and credible sources shown in notes alongside contentious posts, empowers users to discern fact from fiction, a skill they will find useful as they navigate all claims on @X and everywhere. ... The process is controlled by the public, instead of decision-makers at the company and all information about the program is open-sourced. ... More social media companies should open-source their misinformation countermeasures following @X's and @elonmusk's lead."
Since the @WHO declared an #infodemic of misinformation, there have been a lot complaints about misinformation but no solutions. @X's @CommunityNotes may be that solution. During the first year of the program under @elonmusk notes accurately corrected vaccine misinformation 97.5% of the time, citing primary sources of information about half the time and largely credible sources the remainder. Read our study (w/ @mattallen876 @DaveySmithMD @mdredze et al) in @JAMA_current. But let me tell you a little about why we did this study and what it all means, beyond the obvious that more social media companies should follow @X's lead 🧵 1/n jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…
The open source culture around AI is what feels magical.
Lack of access to code, data, papers and reproducibility as well as patent walls were the things that pushed me away from academia after PhD.
I hope the open culture wins over the moat seeking for-profit non-for-profits.
I'm an espresso guy, but given who built this, I'm very tempted to order one. I'm sure it's going to blow minds. Congrats on the announcement @BenRSuarez and @bitfixer.
I've had the pleasure of consulting with Fellow for the past 6+ months on their new coffee brewer and I'm excited to finally share a preview! Designing the HMI for this device has been rewarding, challenging, and just plain fun. youtu.be/Z0ydY4B6T1Y

Music was created to be shared, and technology has always helped bring the music beyond a confined singular space. It’s just that it looked different.
In Mozart’s time, it was the horse-drawn carriage that brought his music all over Europe. Then for Jascha Heifetz, it was radio, vinyl recordings, and television, that distributed his artistry so that fans around the world could enjoy his beautiful violin playing.
Every few decades, we’ve seen a new way to share music: CD’s, then the internet brought streaming platforms, social media. And soon, we’ll not only be able to share music as something you hear or see behind a screen, but as an experience that you can feel.
It’s not to replace what we have, but rather to bring us closer and expand musical experiences beyond the walls of a concert hall.
This is the future that I’m building on Tonic.

Every morning, I wake up and think to myself
Man, how nice would it be
If I can read a poem written by that sales rep who has sent me 10 emails already.
Even better if it was written by ChatGPT.
That would get me to reply to them.
For sure.
How long has @laufey been famous? How come I'm discovering this singer just now? What an amazing young talent
